It's a set-up, just walk away...
We have a defective oven, and the manufacturer gave us this company for service.
The tech came out, spent 10 minutes to take a picture of the serial-number label (and I had already sent that info when I asked for the visit), and that was $150.
Then the repair-quote came back at $1004 for a $150 part + $175 to put it in. Not even a credit for the $150.
Basically, they make $300 an hour if you don't bite (2 service calls), and $1,000 an hour (between mark-up and labor) if you do. Seriously?

CONSUMER BEWARE!
I tried to work with the owner with no luck, so I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION, TEXAS ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE and THE BBB.
I tried to be fair, still no word from this company.
Overview:
Tech came out, charged me $150.00, told me he would call me the next morning to give me a price for the part and repair, he didn't so I texted him 2 days later to ask if he had priced the repair, he texted me that his boss would be calling me. His boss Tony (Owner of K&N Service Appliance Repair) called and stated since the oven didn't replicate the overheating, which

Engaged K & N on the 27th of April to repair my Thermador Refrigerator. Came out on time, determined the issue and even said the part was under warranty. Was very pleased....At First. Was told the part would be ordered and that it would take an entire day to do the repair. Would be approximately $900 for repair. I agreed. Didn't hear anything for over a week, I called around the 7th of May. Was told part was to be in Dallas on the 18th and would be shipped to Austin and would arrive some time around the 20-21st. I called on the 19th or 20th for an update to find the part was never delivered to

OMG.
I have no words how bad the service is.
I am in trouble with thermador pro range.
It burns the bottom of the dish and does not cook the top part and fan makes extreme noise since day 1.
It has been 2 months and even though he knows about the problem they just ordered the parts needed a few days ago.
And today when I called thermador customer service we learned that he said everything is fixable and oven is fine. 😲.
So thermador wait for the guy to fix it.
Technician says the oven is a mess and there will be tons of things to be fixed but speaks differently to thermador team.

If I could give it negative stars I would. This company came out to my house to fix my oven, not wearing a mask properly coughing throughout the place and then, the woman Karen that answers the phone calls is extremely rude, hangs up on you when she disagrees with you. She probably raised the grinch. She then decided to take it upon herself to call a second service provider in my area give them ALL my information and tell them that this company fixed the issue. She should not be sharing personal information with third parties. These people will share your personal information and then avoid your

Big Zero. Received repair approval from extended warranty for 2.5 year old Italian double oven. Faulty top door closure caused more glass/ gasket wear. Called K&N to replace parts--said they knew this brand. Set up 1/24 service call and Karen ordered a gasket for the tech. Charged $270.63 for it + $125 service call. Tech estimated 1-2 hours labor at hourly rate. This is a repair service, not a store, so thought part was high. At service call, tech determined hinges were responsible for poor closure and needed replacement. I paid for gasket and service call then contacted Karen to say I had

I would not recommend this company. Had them come out to work on a Uline service fridge to see what was wrong with it since it was freezing up. They replaced a thermostat and charged me $397. It did the same thing so I called them out again so they replaced the thermostat a second time ...no charge. The unit is still reacting the same, freezing up and they're telling me I now need to have sealed system work done which will cost $800-$900. A new fridge would run around $1500.

So they want me to spend $1200 with their company on repairs which we don't even know if that will be the problem

The level of trust with this company is absolutely zero. I received my appliances in JULY and the oven wasn’t working properly so my installer recommended them to me. It took them one week to be able to come and just look at it; little did I know this was foreshadowing to a horrible sequence of events. They informed me that they had special ordered my part, and would call me when it’s ready. I never received a call but they claimed that they did? At that point it had been 2 months and they were booked out for two weeks. I was finally scheduled for an appointment, which is a big hassle to get

Authorized Bosch repair. Door wouldn't close, and was told it was not screwed in right. so he "screwed it in right". . .for $125. One month later same issue...refused to come out because "they had more money tied up in coming out again"

Customer screwed.

Thanks K&N for the screw!

We called K&N when our Bosch dishwasher showed the dreaded E:09 code, meaning the heat pump and control board would need replacing. Jimmy came out, diagnosed the problem, and told us that he'd try to work with Bosch to get everything covered under warranty, since we bought the dishwasher about a year and a half ago (they usually cover for only a year). Without this it would have been cheaper to buy a new dishwasher due to the repair cost, but K&N went out of their way to get it covered. The new parts and repair cost were covered under warranty, the work was done a lot faster than I

This is the best appliance repair service team. Don't bother wasting time with anyone else. I have a Bosch kitchen suite and my refrigerator and oven started having issues. I called Bosch and they recommended K&N. I called and was able to get a technician the next day. Jimmy showed up on time. He took his shoes off at the door. He laid down a towel on the floor in case he made a mess. He took apart the refrigerator and tested my oven. 1 and 1/2 hours later he came up with a thorough diagnosis. I was charged $150 for that visit plus a quote of $650 for parts and labor to fix the issues

This is the most disrespectful, rude and incompetent company in Austin. Like other customers who wrote about their bad experience with K and N. I also was treated badly by this company. Stay away from them and do not use them! The owner, Karen is extremely rude and hung up on me today when I called to ask a question. Well, we bought a brand new Marvel beverage center. Upon being installed, the temperature remains at 75 degrees and you cannot lower it. I called our Marvel vendor who told me that K and N as their designated service company needs to come out and check the unit. If the unit is defect

I would recommend this company to anyone. They are honest and reliable. Two qualities you don't find in a service company these days. Their techs have worked with them for years, and highly trained. If you are looking for appliance service on premium appliances, this is your company.

Called K & N today because I couldn't get help from Thermador directly in any kind of reasonable time frame (fridge and freezer completely not cooling, couldn't get tech out till Friday even though he was already here for the same appliance last Friday). K & N was also full today, but Karen worked the schedule a bit to get Paul out to at least look at it today. He was able to reset it so it will limp along until he can get back out next week with the parts he needs to truly fix it, and he was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. He was also willing to share his knowledge to help

My expense Viking refrigerator stop cooling and K & N was highly recommended from mutual friend. I was very glad I called because the service was exceptional. I called and made an appointment with Karen over the phone who was very patient and understood my frustrations. She was able to send over a professional the following morning. To my surprise the owner of the company showed up and helped me personally. I was overly satisfied with the quality of service and recommend K & N service to everyone.

Thanks again,

We have used this business several times (because our high end appliances from another company i will review later have needed numerous repairs)-the tech has always been great but the office staff is rude and unprofessional. The most recent time I called I had to call several times and still did not get a call back. I had experience with the tech and he new our appliances so I didn't want to call anyone else. I let the salespeople where we bought them know that we couldn't reach K&N, and we FINALLY got a return call. This was a week after my first call. We had already gone with someone

K&N is the best appliance service I've used. They're older and more experienced and have trouble shooting skills in another league from other companies.

1. Viking convection (double) oven didn't close properly. Another company (Mr. Appliance) pulled the top oven out, had no clue and never came back to finish what they started. They were so befuddled they never charged me. It took K&N 30 minutes or so to diagnose and fix the problem.

2. Bosch dishwasher that had a schizophrenic mother board. Lynn stayed with it for three or more visits and replaced the board twice before

The most disrespectful, unprofessional company in the area. I needed service on my Bosch appliance and tried to move an appointment either earlier or later, whatever worked for them. Karen, one of the owners, actually hung up on me and told me that if I don't like they way she schedules, I can go to Bosch and work with them. After being hung up on, I called back and the other owner, Tommy, picked up as Karen refused to get on the phone. He was just as disrespectful and aggressive as she was. They will candy coat you to reel you in, then once they get you, your at their mercy. Avoid them like

Our repairman (Lynn) was excellent. He clearly knew his way around Bosch dishwashers (which is saying something because several other appliance guys I called would not even come out to look at my dishwasher).

Diagnosis was one visit. Repair was one more visit (parts had to be ordered). If you have a Bosch appliance these guys are worth calling.

The repair guy showed up on time and was very pleasant. Unfortunately, in the course of talking to him during the hour or so he was here, it became clear that he was unsure how dishwashers worked in general, and our dishwasher in particular. The problem was a leak which began late in every cycle. Without any real direction he simply sort of opened/closed the door, looked at the latches, tightened screws, and sort of shrugged off the suggestion that the seal might need to be replaced. Started up a cycle and waited 20 minutes just chit-chatting, then decided it was fixed. Not only was it not fixed

I just called these folks to get a ball park quote for a repair. I know what is wrong & I know the cost of the part. However, they refused to give me a ball park estimate for this type of repair on my type of oven. They refused to talk to a qualified repair guy to get a time estimate and if it would take 1 or 2 guys.
Then the receptionist told me I was taking too long. She did a few heavy sighs and when I said I guess I will call around to see if someone could be more specific she hung up on me.
Not so nice. Not impressed. IF this is how they are when talking to a potential customer, how will

We've used K&N a few times over the past 3 years for repairs to our fridge and oven. They've always been very professional and did a great job repairing our appliances. This is a small, locally owned family business, and they care about making their customers happy. We've had a lot of contractors in our kitchen, and I'm still amazed that they managed to remove and repair both our appliances in a very tight spot with no damage to any of our cabinets.

During our fridge repair, Paul said he was concerned that there could be an unrelated problem with our ice filter. He

Bosch hbl5450uc had a smudge/dirty glass inside door from the factory, K&N took apart the door, cleaned glass, reassembled the door but once assembled the door did not close per factory tolerances - it was out of square and did not appear to close completely on one side. They left in a hurry before I could inspect the work. When I called them back out to adjust the door they made a few minor adjustments including bending the stainless skin (I had to stop him from doing this), bottom line he said it is the best that can be done. I am now getting E124 error code which is the door close sensor
