Well Cam started off great but they didn't finish strong. There is a monitoring piece to a solar system, this is just to make sure that the panels are producing the energy the company quoted you. I've been trying to get Cam to finish this and it's been about a month since my system has been up and running and Cam will not return my emails. I guess they got my money and that's all that counts. These guys were great until this point so I'm dropping Cam from 5 stars to 3 for service after the sale.

Absolutely no follow through from CAM Solar. Our project has been "in progress" for over 6 months with no end in sight. There have been problems at every single phase, and I have had to be directly involved to keep the project moving along.
The most egregious example: I contacted the City of Austin to get a status update when CAM Solar quit returning phone calls and emails. Turns out the City had kicked our rebate application back to CAM a month prior due to problems with they system design, and CAM had done absolutely nothing to resolve. Who knows when CAM would have checked back in

Update; The management team has contacted me in an effort to get to the bottom if the issue. We conversed, the management is super professional and exceeded my expectation in handling the situation. CAM will get two stars for nothing else in the world except the management seemed not only super upset at the situation but, also took responsibility for the training of said rep. Not once did they further try to sell me anything- strictly the manager wanted to find the rep in violation and coach him/her on proper policies. Most impressive is they took time to retrain instead of terminate. This

I met Carl through a neighborhood discussion board, when I asked if anyone had installed solar panels. Carl told me about CAM Solar, and offered to meet to discuss the ROI for installing n my house. It was a no-brainer, since he quickly showed me the data, as well as explained how the city credits and the federal incentives work. When I spur-of-the-moment needed to change the install dates, Carl coordinated everything, making sure everything went smoothly. CAM's employees are as genuine as they come. Carl is awesome. I can't say enough about these guys being professional, straight forward, and honest. Carl came out to give us plenty of information on everything, and coordinated to meet us after work, which is pretty late. Installation crew was great. The system has only been up and running for 27 days, and we've already made more than $65 selling energy back to the city. If you are thinking about solar, call these guys.

I get home from work a few minutes ago to hear this story from softy boyfriend: "somebody knocked on the door around 7p, said they were 'closely connected to CPS' (our local utility company) and they get involved with solar projects that seem not quite right, overpriced, etc.". This sounded hoakey to me, the experienced domestic engineer, and, it got worse. Apparently CAM solar told boyfriend that the company we're under contract with - after extensive research on our part - can't deliver what their comprehensive site survey said our house can accommodate. I received bids from several different Solar installation companies from San Antonio, Austin, and even Dallas. Tony, my sales person was by far the most knowledgeable and professional of all the companies I interacted with. Tony helped me understand what I should be looking for in solar panels, technologies, and what would make most sense financially for our family. When it came to price Cam Solar wasn't the lowest but they had the best value between service and cost. My husband and I had a great experience with CAM Solar. I did an enormous amount of research before choosing them over 6 other installers. Their bid came in substantially lower than the others and they offered an informational class that helped me to choose the panels that would serve us best. Unlike some of the other well known companies that I interviewed, CAM solar (from salesman to installer) was truly informed about all things solar.
