Davis Piano Moving was founded in 1965 in Columbus, Ohio by William F. Davis Sr. In 1965 Mr. Davis was married with two children and working on the assembly line at Ranco. In the evenings and weekends he would occasionally help a local piano store move their pianos that had been purchased to their customers' homes.
Moving pianos/organs from one room to another due to carpet or floors being replaced or refinished. Load or unloading pianos/organs onto a van, truck, etc. allowing customers to transport their piano themselves. Davis Piano Moving has a hydraulic tailgate to ensure your pianos are moved in a safe and efficient manner.
We will call you in the morning the day of your move between 8:00 & 9:00AM and provide you a 2 hour window. Yes, we take every precaution with your piano from protecting it from from the outside elements to ensuring it's safe transport. Our men have over 46 years of experience between them and have come across even the most unique situations and have dealt with them with the utmost professionalism.

I’m a piano technician in Columbus, Ohio, and I always refer customers to Davis.
My personal experiences have varied outcomes.
Years ago they moved my Steinway O grand into my one bedroom condo at Hidden Lake.
They had to lay out boards across the lakeside grass, and they did the job perfectly.
In February 2007 they moved the same piano to a third floor condo on the other side of the lake.
That was a difficult move, and they again did a perfect job.
I believe the Davis son was on both jobs.
This year- several months ago- I had a Knabe 1909 grand moved from out of town into my garage. The

From making the appointment to moving day, everything about this company was pleasant and efficient. And I've never seen movers get a piano out as quickly and yet very carefully. This company specializes in pianos and has for a long time, and it shows. I loved working with them!

Davis Piano Moving was a pleasure to work with all around. From scheduling to confirmation to pickup and delivery, the expectations were very clear and everyone was very polite and friendly. Not only that, but the price to move our piano was lower than that quoted by a moving company AND they delivered up a flight of stairs, which the moving company would not do. I was 100% satisfied with every aspect of the process with this company. I would recommend them to anyone moving a piano in Ohio and will use them again if the need arises.

Professional, on time, provided excellent communication, transparent about expected delivery windows, affordable and confidence about a safe move for my piano. There were 4 people to transfer my small spinet piano into my 1st floor home. They used appropriate moving blankets and there were no damage Maris at all. Highly recommend.

This is one of the nicest and friendliest companies I have ever had the pleasure of working with. From my first call to schedule a piano be moved to home, to two call-notices of when they would be arriving, to the actual move to my apartment. The workers at this company are kind and professional. Davis moved our piano and were very professional and arrived on time, called to let us know when they would come and again when they were 10 min away; both moving techs were extremely courteous and took great care when moving the piano. Davis also gave me the lowest price of the seven local moving companies I called. Highly recommend!

I am sorry there is only a 5 star rating system. Davis Piano Moving is amazing in every way. We did incur some minor damage due to our piano being moved but Davis fixed the problem super fast and virtually undetectable. So professional and courteous. I wish every business maintains these standards of service.

Wonderful! I highly recommend. The movers did more than they'll ever know for me. Long story short, my father passed 3 years ago but as a child bought me a piano. We had to give it away when they moved 7 years ago down south. The lady offered to give it back to me when I got my first house, and of course we had to use Davis. We used it when we had the piano, she used it when she moved it too. We love this company and appreciate how careful, helpful, and kind they handle everything. Thank you! ❤

I hired these guys to dismantle my baby grand piano and move it into our moving truck. They arrived on time and came with the right equipment and dressed and acted very professional. I asked them how many pianos they move each day and they said 10-15 and you could definitely tell. They took apart my piano with care and were gentle with the pieces, then they loaded it onto a dolly and brought it out to the truck, where they strapped it down and secured it. I felt like my piano was in good hands the entire time. Quick service, and definitely
