We met with several solar companies and were turned off by either the sales approach or how they proposed to do the work. We decided to try 180 Solar Power and were very happy with how they represented themselves, very professional and knowledgeable. We decided to go ahead with the project and were not disappointed.

Solar panels generate electricity for your home or business, but at a fraction of the cost of utility generated electricity. The solar panels can generate excess electricity during the day, which is what makes your electric meter "spin backwards". You are paid for excess electricity generation in the form of bill credits, which are then applied to offset utility company charges - that is known as "Net Metering".
Government incentives come and go. Remember Cash-For Clunkers? Just a few years ago there were also huge incentives on a vast array of other energy efficient products from electric vehicles to windows and doors, to air conditioning and furnaces, to insulation and more. Those too have now all expired or been reduced to almost nothing.

It's been about 2.5 years since my original review (7/21/2019) and my system has worked as great as expected! I was considering an external battery and Peter took the time to answer all my questions and walk me through the pros and cons and did not simply try to sell me more equipment. That to me is a sign of a great business, doing the right thing for the customer, not simply trying to make a sale!!! I repeat from my original review that they provided speedy service, were so clean on the job site I was at first wondering if anyone had been at my house, and I continue to recommend them

Awesome!!! Give these guys a call!!! Peter and his staff were very helpful, teaching us about solar power and helping us understand the options and installation process. They delivered on what they said, everything going like clockwork, including cleaning up work site (we couldn't even tell they had been working, apart from all new panels on the roof!). We had to work through some initial options at first, trying to agree on best panel arrangement vs. not seeing panels from the street, and in the end all was great! They helped us with all the paperwork and we are now having fun using the app, watching

I am always skeptical of large purchases where I have limited knowledge. I called about 5 companies, including Costco, before I called Peter at 180. Peter was the only one that sounded engaged in what I was looking for and even understood and minimized my skeptical concerns. He walked me though the process and gave me numerous options, and made the trade-offs crystal clear. I've had their system since 2016. Zero issues so far. And this isn't some fly by night solar company. Today I emailed the president of the company with a question about the new app for my phone and he responded personally same day with the answer. Couldn't be happier and couldn't ask for a better quality system for the price. Give them a call. You'll see from the first moment this isn't just another solar company and your not just a number to them. It's obvious youre dealing with a reputable company who really cares.

Three years after installing solar panels we decided to upgrade and add a battery storage backup system. It allows us to use our solar power when the power goes out. It also gives us battery power when the sun isn't shining.
Peter and his team set it up in two plus days. Very neat work and it works great! It supplies power during 4-9 PM peak hours and is a backup when SDGE goes out.
With the threats of fire prevention outages, blackouts and cyber attacks having a backup system makes sense.

Just wanted to let the folks at 180 Solar Power know our system is working so well and we are very happy with it! I had a handy man wash off the panels a few days ago, look things over on the roof and he gave me 5-Stars! I actually don't really ever think about my physical solar panels on my roof. I do however appreciate the monthly savings we get!

We like our solar panels and system. It has brought our electricity bills down from about $300/month to less than $200/year. We designed the solar array to cover about 75% of our usage, and we ended up producing 130% of our needs, all of which went back to SDG&E. We just had 180 Solar complete our installation, and they were over the top. Peter is a consummate professional. Knows his stuff, does not try to over sell anything, gives great advice whenever you need it. The crew was diligent, on time, and took care not to damage any of my existing roof materials. The installation of panels was done in one day, with the other rough work prior to that only taking part of the day before. Truly a great team.

Their price was a little on the high end, but you get what you pay for. The system and controls installed were good quality. Everyone from the company that we worked with, down to the installers, was polite and courteous. Extra work was performed at no additional charge.

Peter and his team did an awesome job with our Solar. I talked with several companies before deciding to go with 180 and the key reason was Peter was more knowledgeable on providing a solution for our specific needs. We wanted to make sure we still had power even if the grid went down on a sunny day. No other vendor told us that the system will be dead in the water with a power outage because you can't risk sending power back on the lines to the people working on line repairs. Peter explained how it all works and how we could add an item to achieve use of our system even when the grid was down

This is a very good company. I worked here for about 8 months, with SEVERAL sales, and not one customer was upset with the results. The company always does its best to make sure you as a customer are happy and content with your options before you ever make a decision, with no pressure from the technicians I might add! I've heard some real nightmares about solar panel installation. I would love to say we did our research... but the truth is, from the friendly cold call knock on the door to a very no-pressure and informative consultation from Rob Laverty, we felt comfortable proceeding with 180 Solar Power. We interviewed 3 other solar companies over the last few years to no avail due to our limited southwest exposure. Peter at 180 Solar Power was the only one who took the time to strategically plan out the panels to maximize our power needs at the best price too! The system was installed on time with no issues. The panels are awesome, love the modern look of them and they produce like crazy! I paid nothing last year to SDGE and I think I will get a credit this year with that heat wave we just had! I only wish I had done this sooner, I highly recommend and always refer them to anyone interested. Check them out before you sign up with another solar company!

180 Solar installed solar panels on my home last year. The process was quick and easy with no money down. Everyone I dealt with was very professional and knowledgeable, and they met every commitment in the timeframe they promised. They took care of everything, especially when SDG&E tried to pull shenanigans and claim my house had code violations where there were none (of course, they didn't want to lose another customer who they were price gouging). I had idly considered going solar for some time but didn't really know anything about it and hadn't bothered to find out. I DID know I desperately needed a new roof for a solar installation and just to stay dry! One day I noticed a flier in my mail from 180 solar.
