D&D Materials is a business that is owned and operated by a local Tucson family. Serving the community from the same location for over 50 years, we are conveniently located on the east side of Tucson. Through the years, we have grown right along with Tucson and the surrounding areas. We now have a second yard right around the corner in Rita Ranch.
Our product line, the services we offer, and our business hours have expanded to better benefit our customers. By using granite aggregates, natural crushed stones or river rocks, Tucson's lawns have been taking on a new look, commonly called 'xeroscaping' or 'rockscaping'. Living in the desert, landscaping with natural rock allows a low-maintenance decorative look to your yard's landscaping.
Our staff is always ready to help both the inexperienced homeowner as well as the experienced landscaping contractor. We can load your vehicle in addition to offering delivery service and our products can be purchased either in large or small quantities. Whether it is gravel for your driveway or a more decorative rock for rockscaping your lawn, let us help you create your custom dramatic desert landscaping look.

Services
A: The material being crushed produces fines. Anything smaller than the desired size material can be considered fines. For the most part, fines can be considered powder. As stated to us by our suppliers, sized crushed material (screened) can consist of 5% to 25% fines and minus materials or decomposed granites can consist of 50% to 80% fines.

I'm a landscaper who's been keeping Vail beautiful since 2010. I recommended this company to one of my clients. We went there today and he bought 9 tons of gravel for his yard. My client asked the lady behind the counter if they could dump it in his backyard from the alley. She said that unvaccinated people are making covid spread as she looked into my eyes. But she is vaccinated and still got covid. She said we don't deliver in alley's rudely. Then she gave my client a flying for a guy who has a machine that does all the work. Thanks a lot lady🤬you screwed me out of the job. I will never recommend

I’d say their prices are about average for the area and they have a decent selection of materials. The staff inside the office was rude and nobody was wearing masks when they had a sign up and were requiring customers to wear masks. There’s still a county ordinance. I’ll take my business into Tucson in the future.

Very happy with the initial customer service and the driver but it went downhill. Took my measurements in for a hole I had to fill (very odd shape). Sales guy did his math and said 1 ton of fill dirt would be more than enough. He seemed not 100% (younger kid) sure so he took me out to a tractor and told me 1 ton is about 3/4 of the bucket. I was thinking more like 2 tons but was afraid to be stuck with a whole ton of dirt at my house. Asked the guy again if 1 ton would be close to what I need or more than enough (first time ordering dirt and figured they are the experts). He told me more than enough

Good until I realized I am short on fill dirt. Took my measurements that I triple checked into them and they told me 1 ton would be more then enough. More like a 2 ton job looking at what it filled. Paid for the dirt and the delivery but when I called them back and they informed me that I would have to pay the $70 delivery fee again. I was willing to pay the discounted delivery fee like I did for my other material orders after the first one but was told no.

I'ved used D & D a couple times, usually good service/products. Most recent time I called and made an order over the phone and was told one delivery day, but scheduled for another. I also drove over to check I was matching the older rock to the new correctly and the salesman confirmed. On delivery day rock doesn't match. I'll be able to make do but I'm less than thrilled this round. Overall would recommend.

Called today to get an estimate and was met with the rudest customer service I have ever encountered. From the minute he picked up the phone, Daniel spoke to me as if he could care less to gain my business and when I dished back his snarky replies , I was told to take my business else where and hung up on. No problem and we absolutely will. To the owners , it's a shame you have this person representing your business and what's more "managing " it.
