For most Americans, their home is their most valued--and valuable--possession. It stands to reason that great caution should be taken before entrusting a home to a contractor. Many reasons exist to make a change to a home: a growing family, outdated bathrooms, an inadequate kitchen, universal design changes to allow staying in one's home longer in life, increasing the value of a home, or just a change in lifestyle.
With changes, comes the need for careful decisions. In the past decade, state laws have helped clear the field of shady contractors. The latest Gallup Poll didn't list contractors in the top least trusted professionals, but there was a time when contractors were on that annual list. Thankfully, a lot has changed. With the increased use of the Internet, homeowners have become wiser, know what questions to ask, use social media to read reviews, and are able to review a contractor's work before even calling.

In this era of instant communication--email, instant messages, Facebook, Twitter, text messages--one form of communication that takes effort, thought and time, is the personal letter. While the final payment on a project keeps L&M Construction's business engine running, it's the letters of appreciation that fuels Jim's enthusiasm and love for his work.
Every cook loves a well-appointed kitchen. A great kitchen makes cooking fun and provides a welcoming space for family members to gather. But there is another reason to invest in upgrading your dated kitchen: The return on investment (ROI) for your home. The ROI will depend on how your spend your remomeling dollars and the strength of the housing market at the time of sale in your particular area.
Adding space in the form of an addition is a popular remodel. Home additions come in two varieties: those that go up, and those that go out. When space, lot size, zoning restrictions, and cost are an issue, or when it's an aesthetic choice, a second or even a third story addition is just the ticket.

Absolute dream of a company to work with. Very detailed and communicative through the whole project. Left the site completely clean every night. We had an addition put on our house to expand the kitchen. We absolutely love our kitchen! The workmanship and professionalism is top notch! Absolutely recommend Rick and Jim!

I would title this - You Get What You Pay For. I can't say enough good things about Rick & Jim of L&M. This was a fairly large project - they tore down our three-season porch and built a two-story addition. They were always incredibly respectful of the rest of our home, keeping it clean, minimizing disruption to our lives and even picking up the work site each day. They were meticulous from the planning stage to the excavation through the construction and right down to getting the putty colors right (4 different colors) in the sliding door threshold! The level of communication, detail and care

Highly Recommend!!! We couldn't be happier, we love the outcome of our addition and upgrades to the current house we made. We were impressed with how "no details were overlooked on the entire project"! Both Rick and Jim were there everyday to oversee all aspects of the buildout from the ground up.
They had the best attitude and the same can be said for all the teams who came in to work the different stages of our buildout.
We are so happy with our new deck as well! The construction crew were polite and worked hard to ensure a job well done! You can see they take pride in their work! Again, so

Due to unforseen circumstances, I had to turn a 2 car garage into an In law apartment. Seeing how I had used L and M a few years back when a tree completely demolished the deck I called and talked to Rick. From the very beginning of the planning board meeting to the last finishing touches I could not be happier. The itemized contract was right on point. Timelines were fantastic. All the sub contractors were as professional as Land M. I can't say enough about the guys. Their work is truly amazing !

Our family has used L&M construction for 4 major construction projects on our lake front home; a two car garage, kitchen and bathroom remodel, and building a finished basement. We have also used L&M for more minor projects such as deck resurfacing with composite material, window and door replacements and some general annual home maintenance items. The reasons we continue to go to L&M for our construction needs are:
1) The price that we are given for the initial quote is what it will cost; no surprises halfway through nor at the end the project.
2) L&M commits to a timeline and finishes within
