Growing up, my grandfather, Lew Coller, had a woodworking shop that everyone loved. My brother, Gregory Wynkoop, transformed that shop into the Wooden Whale Workshop. Through their efforts, Wooden Whale Workshop is completing many families' homes with the furniture that we build on a daily basis. Some of my favorite memories growing up were made around our dining table.
Sitting around the dining table was a tradition that was passed down from my great grandmother, Barb Summerville. My children, her great-great grandchildren, continue to make memories around it today. It is such a blessing to help our customers design custom tables for their homes that will last for generations with many wonderful memories being made.
We are are small family owned business near Pittsburgh, PA and buy our wood and other products from other small local businesses. Each item we make is hand crafted for you! A lot of customers send us photos of their kitchens, send us inspirational photos of tables they like and we work together to customize their product.

My wife and I ordered a table 4 chairs, and a bench a few months ago. After we had the set at the house about a week, I turned the chairs over to put felt on the bottoms, I found the chairs had loose bolts, and missing screws. I contacted the owner, and he apologized stating he had new worker’s, but shouldn’t have missed it. I asked him to send me the screws so they were all the same. He agreed and apologized again. Weeks later no screws. Contacted again with no response at all. I guess they got their money, and don’t care that the customers satisfaction is not a concern.

We purchased a dining room set, bar stools and accent table from The Wooden Whale and could not be more pleased! The workmanship and quality are phenomenal! I went back and forth several times on my order and they were so kind and accommodating! Delivery was perfect and we are now enjoying our furniture! Highly recommend!

We ordered a table, with leaves, 2 chairs and a bench for our kitchen. It was an unusual size. We had seen Wooden Whale at the 2020 Home Show (before it shut down for COVID). When I went to their website, they had a chat feature, I was able to do the entire order via chat and email, but we went out to the workshop to choose colors. We are thrilled, beautiful construction, a little distress in the wood which is what we requested. We did black and oak to match the kitchen. It is stunning.

Exceptional! My wife and I ordered a table and desk back in November. Brad was extremely helpful in helping us design our table. My wife and I were a little unsure of exactly what we wanted, but Brad really helped guide us along. We received our table and desk a little while ago and the work is priceless. Would 100% recommend to anyone.

The buying experience with Brad from the Wooden Whale was a good. We ordered a kitchen table and chairs which was completed and delivered on time. After we had the table about a year or so one of the slats on the back of the chair started to splinter. We emailed Brad he told us to bring it to the shop and they would

Recently purchased a Farmhouse Trestle table from The Wooden Whale Workshop and I couldn't be happier. The whole process was very smooth. When emailing the shop questions, they were very responsive. Brad, the owner, was so nice and accommodating with my timeline. Even though they were booked for custom made tables, he managed to squeeze me in so that I could receive my table before Thanksgiving. Now I've got a beautiful table, handcrafted here in the USA, that I can enjoy with my family. Thanks again Brad!

We bought a dining room table and bench back in December when they had set up a temporary shop in Butler. The whole buying experience was great. Very knowledge about their furniture, and for custom designed handmade furniture the price really can't be beat. They even delivered the piece for us the next day (weekend) since we bought out of their showroom. I love the table, everybody who visits us comments on it. I highly recommend you check them out. The price and quality can't be beat!
