We work to foster mutually beneficial relationships in all three areas as opposed to merely being concerned with installing cosmetic landscapes for profit. Rooted Landscaping was created to to fill a void left by a landscaping industry which imposes chemicals and water waste to support artificial landscapes that require constant maintenance.

We know plants, soil, habitats, and design and we want to work with you to create a yard that is reflective of your style and needs. Our job is to work with you to translate your ideas or needs into roots, flowers, and soil. In our decade experience of landscape design and installation, we've learned that people know what they like.

Returning home each day greeted by a blooming hydrangea lifts spirits. Having a kitchen herb garden facilitates simple, delicious meals. Rain barrels are environmentally sustainable, but also cut water costs. Having a compost system developed on your property creates free rich, lush soil.
Services
The majority of our client-base is residential, but we work with businesses as well. We will listen to you to find creative elements and maintenance styles that best suit your needs. Approaches range from permaculture, native species, naturescaping, as well as more traditional landscape techniques.
We are delighted with the landscaping work that Kevin Price and his team at Rooted Landscaping did for us. The entire experience was wonderful: Kevin is prompt, dedicated, knowledgeable about plants, creative and extremely hard-working. He is a kind and patient person who always gave us as much time as we needed and has stayed in touch with us after the project was finished.
Ideally, water is best applied early in the day but it is more important to water thoroughly and deeply than to worry about the time of day! Plants MUST be allowed to dry out between waterings. Plants that are watered every day will die from root rot. In a normal season in the upper half of the country, a long, deep soaking once every week you don't get an inch of rain is exactly what your lawn and garden needs and wants.
We're grateful for several resources that continue to spark our imaginations in regards to land stewardship. The following are businesses we support, a few places where we source our materials, and many authors that invigorate our passion for this field. Wes Jackson's brainchild, The Land Institute, is an incredible resource for those interested in agricultural sustainability.
