Have used the services of Doorman for years. Broke a spring on my garage door and they came out the same day to repair and replace it. They noticed my twenty year old opener was making a lot of noise and recommended I replace the unit. A week later I called them to come out and replace the opener and they were here the next day replacing the unit. Very profession and quick with the install. I had a great experience with this company. Evan arrived well under an hour of my call. He fixed all my problems with batteries, sensors, and tracks, and patiently answered my questions. I asked him about a new system, and he gave me lots of information but did not begin any high pressure sales. He encouraged me to let them know when the time is right to replace it, and that is my plan. I now consider Door Man & Son to be my go-to company.

We have used Mike for a number of years and he always did a good job. Last Sunday he and his wife made a special trip because the door was not operating. The building is owned by a nonprofit and any expense over $500 must be approved by the Board and approval may take several days. A written bid is required!! Mike and his wife were told this. The style, color or type of material were never discussed. Mike also said that the opener motor needed replacing as it was 'past its due date'. We were verbally quoted $4,000. No written estimate. I dented the bottom panel of my garage door backing my car into the garage. I originally scheduled two other Portland metro area companies to give me bids in replacing the label, because of the Yelp reviews for The Door Man. One company didn't show up in the 4-hour window I waited. The other called me the night before my appointment to see if it was "worth the drive." That guy did help me figure out that I wouldn't be able to replace a single panel because the manufacturer no longer makes any garage doors. But that was 4 days after I scheduled the appointment.

Called Mike to replace a very old garage door opener and spring. He said our spring didn't need to be replaced even though the inspector said it did. One week later the spring broke and our solid wood garage door came crashing down. He came and replaced the spring. Flash forward 3 months we called him back out to add a second garage door opener. Appointment was scheduled for 9am. He called at the last minute to reschule 1pm. He was 45 min late to that appointment. Mike was timely, professional and went above and beyond in repairing our garage door. Originally thought the problem was just one spring, ended up being both. He replaced the cables and repaired part of one bracket at no extra charge. Really impressive that he could fix it so quickly considering we're in the middle of the holiday season. Highly recommend.

The Door Man was perfectly nice and showed up on the day he said he would, although 90 minutes late and stayed one hour or less. He replaced the spring in our garage door for $595.00. This enabled us to open our garage door manually. He said to get it working with our remote, he would have to replace the motor for $495.00. We decided to wait. Our neighbor gave us the name/contact info of Dave's Garage Doors. We asked him to come out for a bid. He fixed the motor and realigned a part for $190.
