Joan was formally trained in Interior Design in New York, spent 10 years as a master-plan designer at Dayton Hudson, before spending the past 20 + years running her own business in Minnesota. She confidently takes on both large scale projects, as well as smaller more intimate projects with the same passion and considers all to be inspiring and rewarding.

For those who are happy with their existing structural room environment but want a completely new look, creating a color plan is the perfect way to refresh your surroundings. The use of color is a terrific tool to create a fresh new feeling in the room - whether that being calming, warmth, grounding, or airy.

This was a typical well built Roseville home from 1950s' whose time had come to step into the Millennium! In 3 months we filled 4 dumpsters with old debris, recreated new interior spaces, added hardwood floors, changed out 17 windows & doorways, updated baths, kitchen, bedrooms and moved into our new home.

Many interior designers want to put their own mark on the home. Not Joan. She listened to our interests, concerns and dreams, helped us get in touch with our own sense of style. The happy result of her collaborative style is a beautiful space that reflects our family and the way we live. Friends and family comment that our home is simultaneously elegant and comfortable.

What fun this Golden Valley project was! My clients collect art from around the world and love, love color. We kept the background canvas bright and light to let the sun shine in and allow the artwork to present itself. We created custom area rugs, recovered existing furniture and had so much fun installing art as well as placing accessories on the day of the install.
