We were not 100% sure we needed solar at our Lake Tulloch vacation home, but decided to go for it. Well the install went very well, the look was good and we are very pleased that with 1 year under our belt it performed better than expected. Our "true up" after 1 year was -$35. We are very pleased and ended up having Ilum install a system on our primary residence as well. Again the install was quick, efficient and now we wait for the results of our first year. I cannot recommend ilum solar enough. After a lot of research they seemed to be the best and they definitely were. Brock and his crew were great throughout the entire process. Extremely professional, answered all of my questions with knowledge and patience. Permits were pulled, the system was installed and up and running quickly.

The people at Ilum Solar installed my solar system and I could not recommend a company more highly. My project was a complex residential installation requiring two inverters and 47 solar Panels to handle the loads for the property. Robert, the company owner and engineer is amazing. I had such high hopes after finishing my solar project...spent a good chunk of $.. Overall, the equipment and labor have worked out. My main issue is with the sales rep, Tyler, who I had to deal with during and after the project was completed.
I sent over multiple referrals which I now regret doing. From what I was told, it was like pulling teeth to get Tyler to reply back and to get an answer. Almost, like it was a bother. Thousands of dollars were spent with this company and the sales rep, Tyler, really didn't follow through.

I studied a lot and focused on REC Alpha 365AA panels system and worked with 5 REC installers, but other REC installers will only use IQ7+ microinverter.
IQ7+ is rated at 290w / 290VA continuous power output, will have significant clipping, when paired with high power panels, to effectively lower system production. Caitlin at Ilum solar is the only one willing to work with me to upgrade to IQ7A, with great system price, fantastic installation time and 7 days a week personal custom service.
Strongly Recommended.

I was referred to Tyler from Ilum Solar by a family member who had 30 panels installed at their home. Tyler was very easy to work with and at no point did I feel pressure to buy something I didn't need. Prices were fair and the loan process wasn't overly complicated, not to mention they offer a great APR. Installation was very quick as well with the county inspector showing a week after it was installed and SMUD the week after that.
I plan to use them next year to install more panels once I have a years worth of electricity usage.

We liked the sales pitch in October and scheduled for install right away. The roofer and crew were awesome, they completed the installation quickly in November. Our Solar, however, was not turned on until February. Communication was lacking from our sales rep as we were waiting on the city to approve the solar. We are leasing, so our payments started in January but our sales rep did not contact the electric company. We ended up paying for the lease and our regular electric bill because she forgot to set it up. We also never received our free gifts of a RING doorbell and VISA giftcard.

We recently got our Solar panels installed through Ilum solar and it was a great experience. We got quotes from several different companies and Ilum's quote was one of the most competitive ones. We worked with Tyler and he was very professional and prompt in responding to our questions and concerns. He even called me back from home though it was outside of office hours because he wanted to get our questions answered asap.

I engaged Ben on my solar system in December of 2019 and had it installed shortly after.. these guys are great to work with and use high quality products in panels and inverters such as Enphase micro inverters.
I am super happy with Ilum and have connected friends and fammily members with them and one has already add signed a contract for a larger system than mine. They are efficient and competitive as well. Ben was great to work with!

I have worked along side Ilum Solar for a few installations here in the Bay Area and hope to be able to work with Ben and Robert again soon. They are there to help their customers every step of the way weather it be designing, installing, or even panel cleaning. Her and Nate are two of the best people you could ever want to deal with. The owner of the company is pretty amazing as well. He took care of me and my issue, quickly. Nate came by to install our Nest and he provided the best customer service!! Super nice! And made sure we had the best overall experience with ILum solar. He made sure we understood the new thermostat and helped us download and set up our new phone apps. He was nice enough to show us how everything worked. My husband did alot of research on solar and was not sure if it would be beneficial to us. Well, after talking to at least 2-3 different solar companies we decided to go with Ilum Solar.
