Tom methodically went through my PV system, found the problem and promptly fixed it. He was able discuss all the components with be in layman’s terms that I could understand. He also didn’t try yo upsell me newer components. Honest and knowledgeable.

They really earned a one-star rating. After a pleasant install, they were thoroughly irresponsible and unreliable with further work.

Can't say enough good things about Custom Solar. Mice ate the wire, clean into the housings, on the 32-panel system on my barn. Custom solar replaced most of the units, did a tight re-wire of the squirrel guard, and got me up and running and helped me out financially to make it happen. Fantastic, practical, competent.

I went in looking for a connector for my Renogy portable solar panel. Tanner took 15 minutes and built me one. Other staff were friendly and interested in my situation. Thanks!

I company that stands by their products for sure, however, they do make mistakes. They do follow up and do repair the mistakes, but it takes time. Also, not exactly straight forward on why things are so complicated or why they take so long nor why things don't work out so...4 stars they do try recommended overall

I used Custom Solar a few years back to have solar panels installed on the roof of our house in Lyons and was very pleased with how everything turned out. Recently, I needed to have the wire conduit and solar box relocated to a new location for some construction / remodeling work we are going to have done. The two gentlemen who came to do the work were polite, friendly, and knowledgeable and got everything set up exactly where I wanted it. Very happy with the company.

We worked with Custom Solar five years ago while our house was undergoing a major renovation. They produced a clean design, and gave us a couple of options to choose from. They were very willing to work with our sub contractors, and meet our crazy schedule, even on short notice. Once we moved in we were super happy with the system. Unfortunately, within a year, our inverter was showing an error message, and the panels stopped producing. Custom sent out service people to get it running again. Whatever they did, it would fix the system for a couple of months, and then the system would go down again

11/19/18 update: My recent experience with Custom Solar has changed for the better. They were very responsive and set expectations with me when re-installing the panels after a roof repair. The squirrel guard has been installed and we now have a quote for a snow rail. I'm now happy with the level of customer support I'm receiving from Custom Solar.

Custom Solar recently completed the solar installation on our home. From start to finish, they were excellent to work with. They were courteous, professional and always available to answer questions. Our system has been up and running for two months and we are extremely happy with it. Not only are we saving money but we have lowered our carbon footprint. Anyone wanting to go solar should consider Custom Solar.

Three years ago we contracted with Custom Solar to install a solar thermal system in our home for heating our hot water. We were extremely pleased with the entire process. We first met with the company's president, Willie Mein, to discuss how the entire system operates, as-well-as details about the different components of the system. Willie invested quite a bit of time, including climbing around on our roof, to create a custom design for our particular home. The installation of the system was quite an undertaking but the installers accomplished it in a timely and professional manner.

Custom Solar installed a tankless water heater for our home. We'd asked a few different contractors for quotes and found that Custom Solar's quote was competitive. The installer was professsional, thorough, and organized. Custom Solar arrived on time to do the job, and the work was completed on the day they expected to finish. The work easily passed inspection and we've had many compliments on how nicely the water heater was installed from friends and neighbors.
