Would not recommend. Had a very disappointing experience. We read all these reviews (note that many are quite old) and were expecting a collaborator to help us with a small project. We did not get this and got someone who had many of the qualities that make working with a contractor challenging.
During the process itself, Chuck was slow to to answer our questions and repeatedly refused to meet in person during the work week. I called Chuck because we had some mutual friends as he grew up in Marin County not far from my job. He is a trained architect, contractor and even has an MBA. This guy is a project manager, building guru and creative genius all rolled into one. From start to finish I could tell: Chuck knows his business; His bid is very complete with no unchecked boxes or unanswered questions. I first met Chuck Stine of Stine Builders with the contractor of ROC Construction who built my neighbor's deck many years ago. Chuck with his rich expertise in architectural design and construction, designed my deck to my liking. He and the contractor worked together in taking down the old deck before building the new deck that connects to our dining room. They also rebuilt a modified porch where the old deck had been. They were clean and thorough and left the job sight clear at the end of each day.
