I found them on Nextdoor after Pest Control tech told me that the bottom part of the garage had holes that the mice might be coming in from. The garage tech came, and he said that he would replace it. I told him what his thoughts were on the garage door cause it was old. He said it was starting to crack. He gave me a quote for a new door. He also stayed a bit later, fixing the garage door until I got the new door. A month later, I put in the request for the new garage door.
Another tech came, and he was just as professional as the first one. He replaced the door, and I am loving it.

THE BEST EXPERIENCE I have ever had with a service company in my lifetime. I don't know what Jorge is paid, but he is worth his weight in gold. Definitely recommend Academy Door and Control Corporation. I backed into my garage door while it was opening and bumped it off the track and the springs. I called Academy Door in the morning, the lady who answered was very friendly, and they were able to schedule something with me the same day. The guy who came was also super friendly and fixed our door within an hour or so. We are very satisfied with the work and customer service. Highly recommend.

Fantastic! Cindy scheduled my appointment quickly and Doug expertly installed my new garage door opener & controls surprisingly fast! Wow! Al from Academy Door & Control arrived ahead of schedule and he worked his magic on our totally dead garage door opener and in nothing flat, we were back in business again. He knew exactly what was wrong with it (a dead control panel inside the opener) and replaced both it and the wall control pad. He reprogrammed the remote and the car remote and he serviced our door. All of this occurred in about 20 minutes. If you want it done fast and right....call Academy and ask for Al. Other companies could take lessons from Academy Door. Thank you for such excellent service.

Our garage door spring was broken yesterday. We called the company yesterday afternoon. The technician came on time today and was very professional. He installed new springs for us within half an hour and answered a ton of questions. He not only fixed our garage door but also noticed that our light bulb was broken, so he installed a new light bulb for us. If I can give more stars, I certainly will. Can't be happier with their professional service.

It finally came time for us to replace two old wooden garage doors. First I did some research on garage doors in general. Lots of info on the Internet.
Then I did extensive research on quality garage door contractors in my area. Used Yelp and other sources. Came up with a list of five quality candidates and sent details to each for bids.
Eliminated 3 in relatively short order for various reasons. Came down to two candidates for the same two door options (either a Clopay or a CHI) -- Academy and another contractor. I focused on all decisioning points -- service, price, features, warranty

A couple of good things, to be fair:
- Company had quick initial response and was able to come out for both initial appointment and follow up quickly.
- during the sales process, very fast responses to email.
- Installed a good product
Now the problem:
- Technician Rob advised that they would apply the $130 initial fee to whatever subsequent purchase we made (new unit)
- I spoke with Alan Greenberg to coordinate installation, and confirmed this detail.
- Second technician advised after install that this would be taken care of by the office.
- We were charged the full install

I have used Academy Door & Control for a number of years on my last two houses. They are always professional and courteous on the phone and when the techs arrive at my house.
I have had an old garage door replaced and a coil replaced at one house, and then we moved and the second house had two garage doors, and I just wanted one big one. AD&C recommended someone to do the work to get rid of the two doors- needed to build a temporary wall, then remove the post in the middle of the two doors, then add a steel beam, then remove the temp wall. Then AD&C came and installed a brand new door

I'm so pleased with the service I just received from HARRY at Academy Door! One of the cables came off of the garage door they installed 13 months ago. When I called up, the receptionist reminded me that the warranty was only for a year and we were passed that point but they sent Harry out and he found out the torsion spring needed a half turn and then he reattached the cable & lubricated the door wheels and track.
To go even further, he replaced the dead battery in the outside door remote pad and reset the door code.
All of this 1 month after warranty!

One word EXCELLENT! These guys are real professionals. Mr. Jim came to my home and took the time to listen to my problem, then went to work! Seriously, he performed the required investigation of the issue to properly diagnose the problem. In less than an hour, my garage and clickers were FULLY functioning as normal.

Some of the most professional contractors I've met. I have an old garage opener that sits on a rail that needed to get cut to fit. Another contractor came through and was completely clueless. I asked around my neighborhood and discovered that Academy Door was everyone's go-to garage door company. I called Academy and they were able to get a tech at my house the next morning. The guys were quintessential pros. Everything works perfectly now. I can't even hear my door close, it's that quiet. I'll be using them again and will be recommending Academy to all my friends.

One of my two garage doors freaked out two days ago. Opening/closing by itself about five times, and then it just froze half open. I manually disengaged it and closed it. Called Academy Door ASAP and left a message. They returned my call the next morning at 7:30am or so! I explained the situation to the awesome lady on the phone. And how I was a little freaked. She said sounded like the garage door openers needed to be wiped since someone else must be on our same signal.
At about 1:15 PM that same day a very courteous technician was at my home. I even received a phone call prior giving an ETA

This morning when I was leaving the house for work, the garage door was closing and made a loud BOOM noise. I then tried to open/close it and noticed it wouldn't open or close. My wife and I frantically searched for an emergency garage door repair company to come fix our garage today. My wife decided to work from home.

I recently had to deal with an issue where two different pieces of my original 4 year old garage door equipment had broken. After finding out from the company that manufactured the equipment - Overhead Door - that they would replace the two pieces for around $200 total - and I would only get a 30 day warranty on those two parts - I was livid.
Two different friends recommended Academy Door & Control Corp. So I went out one Saturday to visit them - be aware, they close at 1:00 pm on Saturday. I arrived at 12:45 pm - so I got there just in time.
They showed me the components they would use.
