Since 2001, I have been the proud owner of WORKS by JD. We are the North Shore's customer focused, design-build home remodeling & construction service company. We are focused on building long term relationships with our clients and vendors, and in a practice of exceeding expectations. I grew up in Manchester by The Sea and have raised my family in Gloucester.
Construction and carpentry are in my blood. My work ethic comes from my father, who owned flooring business and my attention to the aesthetic details from my mother, an interior designer. I I started working with my dad in high school helping with carpet installation. I also ran my own business, providing gardening and landscaping for local families.

I have an antique house from 1840 and I have learned that you need to hire workman that have the knowledge, craftsmanship and experience to handle these projects. Do it right the first time. Works has done many projects for me and we have another one planned for next month. They have the best quality workmanship and very professional.

I originally got in touch with WORKS to repair a bathroom closet. They fit the job into my short time frame and had two different people come out to work on it. Both did excellent work and were very personable and helpful. Closet came out looking very good. I have since spoken to them about a number of other jobs and plan to use them for more repairs in the future.

The exterior painting job done by a crew from WORKS could not have been better. As I watched their work going from surface cleaning, preparation with areas of scraping, minor filling and caulking to priming and the final solid color staining, the care and expertise with which it was being done was obvious. I tend to be a perfectionist and was happy to perceive the guys treating the house as if it were their own!

Works by JD completely renovated my basement, transforming it into a truly useful and beautiful space. They were a pleasure to work with - professional, friendly, knowledgeable and highly skilled. I was most impressed with the high level of communication they maintained throughout the process. Everything was clearly explained, changes were documented, and phone calls were returned quickly. I have met with Jesse DeBenedictis on several occasions and found him to be incredibly genuine, honest, and very knowledgeable. He is extremely passionate, thorough and a great communicator, which is hard to find in a contractor! I would not hesitate to recommend Jesse to friends or family in need of a home renovation!!
