In 2006, Rainbow Septic was honored with Austin Chronicle's Award for "Best Septic Company". Jan has been a licensed Texas real estate broker since 1976. She understands the real estate transaction and knows first hand how essential it is to ensure the buyer gets accurate information about the mechanicals on a property.
Rainbow Septic is amazing. With my job, I come across all kinds of issues and questions pertaining to septic systems and Rainbow always answers all my questions and takes great care of me and my clients. I know I can always count on them and their expertise! A septic system is one of the most expenses pieces of equipment in a home.
There are as many configurations of septic systems as there are makes of cars. We have provided information on the three most common types of systems. To know exactly what it located on the home site we recommend ordering system records from the governing authority comparing to what is shown. Contact us 512-380-9024 and we can help you decipher the information.

I was needing a septic inspection ASAP since we were in the process of buying a house. Reached out to multiple companies and one other actually recommended Rainbow since they were not available. I called rainbow and the lady over the phone was very helpful and got me scheduled ASAP. They took care on the inspection and the pumping. Tom was extremely helpful and explained in detail his findings. Happy and Satisfied customer!

I've been a real estate broker in Austin for many years, getting into the business in 2002. I have worked with a few septic companies over the years but my preferred vendor for septic service is Rainbow Septic. They are informative, direct, and helpful. They don't try to up-sell and are extremely courteous. Thanks Jan!!

Cost me a buyer and another inspection.
Said my tank leaked and gray water from my washer was being run into my yard.
Another company came out and found the tank was holding water at the proper level, and the 3/4" PVC pipe shown in the report as my washer drain, was my AC condenser overflow!! My washer goes directly to the main drain.

I'm so pleased with their service! Their man Walter did a great and thorough job and managed to find a tank that for YEARS other companies told us simply didn't exist despite drawings that showed they were! He said "I believe there's a third tank here, and of course after years of others saying differently, I assured him there was not.. I left to run errands and when I returned he was finished and HAD FOUND THE THIRD TANK!! WooHOO! Thank you Walter! I really appreciate this kind of diligence and service integrity. I pondered to him why no one else had ever found it and

I had a super positive experience with Rainbow. Our tank was scheduled to be pumped by another company, but they canceled last minute. Scrambling, I called Rainbow and Nicole saved the day. She was able to put us into the schedule the same day and have our tank pumped ahead of a house full of guests. Great customer service and communication.

Rainbow was recommended to inspect and pump our septic when we bought our home a little over a year ago. They came out to inspect but "couldn't find" the septic tank. Despite this they charged us $470. Our tank is now backed up withe toilet overflowing and the shower filled with sewage. I can't believe they charged us so much money and left us ankle deep in $&!t.

Not impressed with Rainbow septic. I hired them to inspect a septic system. I knew it had been pumped the previous week, so I only requested an inspection. I was quoted $345-500. The inspector arrived, opened the lid and said the system failed. I was shocked to receive a $520 bill. After I questioned the bill, I was told that I was lucky because they could have charged me an additional $225 to pump the system!!!! They didn't even attempt the pump the system. Why do they think they did me a favor for not charging me when they didn't perform a job? The extra $175 was in case they

If I could give this company zero stars, I would. Jan's answer is always...full system replacement. I've been dealing with this garbage company since 2008 when buyers unfortunately hire them for septic inspections. Every single time (not exaggerating) the system is beyond repair. I'm talking all different systems of all different ages. Her sham inspections force sellers to get 2-3 different opinions...always unanimously confirming her inspection findings were complete bull. They are known throughout the RE industry as a complete fraud. Buyers agents use them to try to get

Tom and his team are very thorough and professional. I met them when they did the inspection on a property I was selling over a year ago. They made such a good impression that when I purchased a new property I hired them. They did an excellent job - they showed up right on time and they take the time to explain everything they are doing and actually show you any issues they find. Excellent customer service.

I am so impressed with Rainbow Septic. I was calling around today to get some info on pricing out a new septic system since we were looking into renting out some RV spots or building a cabin to rent out. The receptionist was extremely friendly and told me that Jan would have to call me back. Jan called me back very quickly and answered all my questions and actually made some really good suggestions. She was able to pull up my septic plans and was able to tell me exactly what I needed. She was very patient, knowledgeable, and I really felt like she cared about me. Rainbow Septic will be my new septic

I don't think they do a thorough inspection at all. I had a contract with them for over 3 years, and every time they leave after the inspection, exactly 2 months later my septic system breaks down. Every single time I will be told that the system needs to be pumped while my neighbors pump theirs' every 8 years. I've never heard of someone's septic needing to be pumped every year, unless something is wrong with it, which is to this day a mystery since they have never been able to find the problem. I'm moving on.

Should not have to put any stars on this.Jan is the dumb owner that will tell the realtor all kinds of things just to try to sell a new system. She shows up looking like a freak show farmer and acts as she knows everything . She tried to be a realtor but could not do it because you have to use a computer and dress like a lady. This old lady needs to have her company shut down. She is a going to steal you blind if you use her .If your realtor said to use her you need to fire your realtor too.Jan said I needed to move my septic and it doesn't need anything she told my buyer's agent and then

I've always had good service by Rainbow w/ Septic tank pumping and reasonable (comparing to others) pricing. HOWEVER, I'm not sure why they keep recommending Charlie Threet, Texas Septic Services for maintenance. He's a SCAM artist, very poor at maintenance, doesn't show up half the time and then when he does show up he doesn't do all the steps required by the county, but mostly just "looks in the tank" w/o doing the maintenance! I'm not alone in my poor opinion of Texas Septic Services... A quick google will show that many MANY other customers have had

I had a good experience with Rainbow Septic. I needed a waste pump pit cleaned out in order to repair the pump. Nichole was very accommodating over the phone and got me on the schedule with a days notice. Pump truck showed up, the driver was very nice and helpful, job went great. My wife is a Realtor and uses Jan all the time for septic Inspections. She loves her. Not sure what happened with the bad reviews.

I just read the other 2 reviews which surprised me because I had a COMPLETELY different experience. I called Rainbow Septic after another company told me I was going to need more than just a tank pump, and then no showed the day they were supposed to repair whatever was broken.
I had been without water for days and was extremely frustrated when this other company no-showed and reached out to Rainbow Septic late that night. A lady named Nicole called me back quickly and was extremely courteous and helpful. I explained what had happened and my nervousness that they were going to do the same thing

Yikes!
Rainbow Septic performed a pump and inspect on my septic. After calling four times, speaking with two separate people and still with no results, they were unable to produce me my inspection report. A week after the inspection, a $700 charge appears on my credit card. I had directly asked the woman who I worked with to call me first before charging my card, because it was possible I would use another.
Not only did they not call me before charging my card, they failed to produce an inspection report that I was charged $350+ for.
When I spoke with Jan, she became extremely defensive and
