Modern Farm home in Ann Arbor with Geothermal. This open floor plan is a Modern Farm house with clean simple lines with black windows for a dramatic feel. Also, interior features include a stone fireplace, shiplap in the foyer, and beams with shiplap on the ceiling of the master bedroom. We also re-purposed a vintage utility sink for the mudroom.

Tony Van Oyen Builders recently built our house. We worked closely with them over the course of two years and ended up with a home that is perfect for us. They truly care about using quality materials and really pay attention to detail. You will never get a cookie cutter house build with TVO. What you will end up with is a family company that comes together to provide you a one-of-a-kind quality home that will last for a very long time. We were very happy with our experience and highly recommend them!

We cannot thank Tony Van Oyen Builders enough for our beautiful new home! We looked for almost six months at different builders and constantly felt like we were hearing the same sales pitch and getting pressured into deposits without receiving all the information and answers to our basic questions. We were getting discouraged with the process and losing hope when by chance we met the Van Oyen’s and the rest is history. Van Oyen built our house in 2013, they were great to work with through the whole process. Its been 8 years now and the quality of the construction is much better than you'll get with the "major" home building companies. Exterior was all 2x6 construction, better insulation and sealing (top level Energy Star builds). Comparing heating bills with co-workers with similar size homes and age of house, our heating is almost half the price and we keep the temperature a few degrees warmer. If I was to ever build another house, there is no doubt that my preference would be to go with Van Oyen again.

We built a house ten years ago with Tony Van Oyen Builders. This house was built very well and we have had very few issues. Two weeks ago, we had a few windows that had seal problems so I called Van Oyen Builders to see if there was a warranty on them. Joe called me right back and provided the window manufacturer and the company that installed them. Unfortunately the window company was out of business but I appreciated the quick response. We will be getting the repairs done by the company that installed the windows.

We had our home built by the Van Oyens and we are glad that we selected them in the construction of our new home. From the beginning, they were very down-to-earth and easy to get along with. Jill and Joe were the ones we primarily communicated with and they were great to work with. They care how the end result turns out and they think about things that they would want in their own homes. I think that makes a difference when you are building a custom home. Their trades and contractors were also very professional when they came to work at the house and answered any questions that we had. It is inevitable

After six months of searching my wife and I located a new home that was just completed, after putting down a deposit we found that the land was built too close by law to the adjacent swamp, after brining this to the builders attention he assured us that he had friends that could get pass this issue and that he could install a French drain to address the water issue that left the grass leading to the walkout like a swamp itself. We cancelled the purchase and decided to take a six month break from our search.

Our final walk-through was conducted on 10/18/18. We were very happy with our experience with Van Oyen Builders.They were very accommodating when I asked to make changes to the elevation plan. They also were very flexible and willing to work with us when there was "confusion" on ordering of the the kitchen cabinets. They went over and above to include some additional work on the final grading. Overall, this was our first experience in building a new home. We had heard the horror stories about bad experiences with builders, but thankfully we selected a first rate company to build our new home. I

Tony Van Oyen Builders built our home. It was our second new construction. They were great to work with, especially John and Ellen. John had no problem meeting us on site for questions. We made a few changes during the construction. They were very accommodating. It really seemed like they wanted to make sure that we were happy with the home. We had a couple of minor warranty issues. They were addressed very promptly. We would diffidently build with them again.
