Our walk in garage door fell off the hinges and needed to be completely replaced. I contacted Doug via e-mail on New Years and he responded that day saying when he would be back in the office and could give me a quote. He contacted me exactly when he said and gave a detailed quote that was very clear within hours. Once I hired him he kept me informed of how the order of the door was going and when it was due in. Once the door was delived he installed in the next day. He was at our house at exactly the time he had said and finished very quickly. The work was great and everything was left cleaner

Update 9/16/19: We ended up going with another company who was willing to go the extra steps needed to properly waterproof our new door. Cost us a few hundred dollars extra for removing and patching our stucco but at least we know the job was done correctly (the black waterproofing paper/flashing was missing 8" back from door which we were only able to address by busting out the stucco). Our old wood threshold was removed and we have a clean modern install on the new door. All I can say it that sometimes you have to advocate for yourself in making sure contractors aren't trying to cut

Doug did an absolutely wonderful job installing an interior door for us today. First of all he arrived on time, which is rare these days. He was polite, professional, respectful and careful with the work space within our home. We wanted to change out a 6 panel bathroom door that opened into the bathroom to glass framed door that swings out. It turned out perfect. Was Excited to work with Doug based off his reviews, Unfortunately my experience was not professional. Contacted Doug Monday morning regarding a door installation. Doug returned my call late afternoon. We spoke and Doug was polite and ready to work via our phone conversation. I sent doug detailed photos of the job with the address. Doug followed up the next day with a job estimate. However, Doug never even came to inspect the job site. In the end I wasted a week waiting for Doug.

Doug is AMAZING!! This is the second time I have used him in the last few years. He just finished working on my rental we are fixing up to sell and before that, he did 3 doors for my own house. He does wonderful work, is EXTREMELY fast, and plays well with others! (I have had several other contractors working on the house at the same time.) Doug was great. I needed a door as soon as possible. I left a message for him on a Saturday, he got back to me the same day. He ordered the door that day, received the door Tuesday, came to install it Wednesday morning at 7 am. He was knowledgeable and did a great job installing the door in a very irregular frame, to accommodate a 1922 house. I highly recommend him

I happened upon Doug Gillespie quite by accident. But after some discussion on his abilities, I determined that he is the genuine article. His communication is the best of any contractor or trademan that I have encountered. We set a day and a time for him to install five (5) interior doors in my Huntington Beach home. If your looking for a professional door installer use Doug Gillespie Doors. I had purchased a custom door which the manufacturer had built incorrectly. Doug was able to make a work around and the finished job was perfect. Door is perfectly plumb and works awesome. Moreover he installed the 32" door into the 30" opening by replacing the inside 2x4 with 1x4 therefore leaving the header as is. This allowed me to bypass a permit because the header was not altered. I would definitely use Doug again. His cost is competitive, shows up on time and does outstanding work.

I was very impressed the moment Doug walked up to the door. He was on time! That's half the battle of getting a contractor to be on time!! Doug does not respond to phone calls, or e-mails. I left 2 voicemails at the 714 number, no response. I finally got through to Doug who asked me to send him pictures of my door along with pictures of the frame, no email back. I tried calling again and got a hold of Doug...he hung up on me. I tried calling back, no answer. Seriously, what kind of game is this!? Based off the previous reviews I thought I'd give this guy more chances than I would anyone else. Forget it!! Going elsewhere.
