Environmental Design Service has provided consulting services in the onsite wastewater and related fields for 25 years, serving a variety of clients including homeowners, builders; commercial and industrial, and governmental entities. Our company specializes in percolation testing, septic system design, and Soil Scientist services.

We are completely independent and have no affiliation with any governmental agency, manufacturer, contractor, or installer as to avoid even the appearance of a conflict of interest. We feel our clients are best served when represented by consultants such as ourselves that have only our client's best interest in mind; helping them achieve their desires in an environmentally sound manner keeping with existing laws and regulations.

We work with a number of other professionals including engineers, surveyors, geologists, and biologists so we can direct you to the best professional should the need arise. We are also happy to refer you to qualified installers for you to obtain estimates for designs we provide.
Services
Environmental Design Service was started in 1987 as a consulting business initially focused on onsite wastewater system design becoming one of the leaders in that field in Pennsylvania having designed over 10,000 onlot systems of all types. It has expanded into related fields but continues to offer the same high quality, economical services for a variety of clients.
Initially this was our core service and continues to be one of our primary focuses. Since we have designed over 10,000 systems of all types, we bring a wealth of experience to handle difficult circumstances. We have experience in the latest technology including components such as Ecoflow Peat Filters, American Manufacturing Drip Irrigation Systems, Orenco AdvanTex Systems, and Eljen Geotextile Sand Filters.
These are inspections conducted to evaluate existing systems, typically done at the time of real estate transactions. They are not regulated by any governmental agency and the standards differ from state regulations in terms of defining failing or malfunctioning systems.
