The Flood
This is the question a neighbor once asked when he learned what we do. Obviously he was envisioning a flooding event with rising flood waters affecting hundreds or thousands of homes. Well that type of event definitely would qualify as flood damage or water damage, but you don't have to have wide scale flooding to need water damage restoration services.

Get help with water damage whenever there is an accident, a leak or an appliance problem that gets anything wet in your home. It doesn't have to be visibly wet to lead to serious damage. If wood or other organic materials are at 17% moisture content or above they are at risk of growing mold. If they stay wet for more than a few days mold can grow.

Once mold grows, the same drying options are not available and more demolition is necessary. Whenever you have a water damage event have it checked out to avoid more serious damage. Pipe leaks come in all sizes from small to large. Even if it seems minor, get it checked out; hidden dampness can take weeks to dry on its own.

Before your basement ever floods, it's important to find the best water damage cleanup crew in your area long before this ever happens. There are many companies in large urban areas that offer this type of service, and even in rural communities, but you need to know which ones will provide emergency services and actually do the best work once they arrive.
At the Flood Co. in Northern Utah, we are experts in fixing the issues that are associated with Utah ice damming. We hope to educate local residents about this problem. This includes helping people understand what causes ice dams and why it is so important to call us to get the problem fixed before it damages your home.
Detecting a leaking pipe can be difficult if the leak is not visible. There are a few signs to look for if you think there might be a leak somewhere in your plumbing system. If you detect a leak or have strong reasons to believe there might be a hidden leak, your best option is to call a team of professionals to fix the issue and clean the affected area.
Indoor plumbing and modern waste collection systems are generally dependable and effective, but there is always a chance that things can do terribly wrong. It is not unusual for sewage works and systems to overflow or begin moving in the wrong direction. When this happens, it is essential to have the damage corrected by a knowledgeable expert with experience in this especially noxious disaster.

Had a refrigerator water leak. Called The Flood Company. Kurt came out and told me what it would cost for three days of drying. Assumed (big mistake) that three days is what was required to dry the wood floor. Because of equipment breakdowns, they gave me a couple extra days. Kurt showed me one little corner behind the refrigerator that was still wet. As that was all he pointed out, figured no big deal. He hauled away the equipment. Three weeks later the floor refinisher shows up and immediately test the dryness in several areas. With their testing tools, they show me several

There are plenty of companies out there. Do not make the mistake we did. Substandard work and poor customer
service. In addition, we had to file a police report because we had items missing from our home that were not missing before they got there.
