When it comes to residential moving, there's no such thing as a "one size fits all" solution.
It goes without saying, that as a company we are required to show up ready to work. Preparedness, though is a two way street. Simple things like having items that wont be moved put out the way or boxes closed and taped can cut down on a tremendous amount of time. If an item can be boxed it should. Lamp shades, pillows, comforters, small pictures, figurines, and vases need to be properly boxed before they are put in the truck.

Excellent!! The owner went above and beyond to help me out in a pinch. Any time you move it is a stressful time I was in the process of relocating back to Florida, I had my home sold, and movers scheduled. I arrived to my home a day before the movers was scheduled to be there only to find out the ditched me for a larger job. Well I called around and couldn't find anyone to take a last minute move, till I called these people. I spoken to Malak. I explained my situation and he who assured me he would find a way though he was fully booked up for that Saturday. Saturday morning come and 2 guys show

I had a mover no-show on me. In a panic, I called Malak and he had 2 guys at my house the same day! They worked until about 9PM and did an amazing job. I can not say enough about Malak, the movers who came to my rescue and the company. Don't hesitate to call The Movers! They are affordable, ethical and most importantly- reliable!
I wish I could remember the movers' names but this was last summer. They were sweet, funny and crazy strong!

They showed up on time and moved fast..... Which is really important with moving companies.
Minus 2-stars: False advertisement!! Their ad on Yelp says moving starts at $65, but when I called to get a quote it was $100/hr with a 2hr minimum. So, I asked why their ad says services start at $65--I was only moving a bed, chest and dresser--and the owner said, "Because we had to post a price on Yelp. $65 is only for Seniors who may need one small piece of furniture moved".
Minus 1-star: They put a dent in my brand new wall while carrying up an empty chest one minute into moving my furniture

9.16.19 UPDATE: Not only is Malik Abdus-Salaam d.b.a The Movers/The Real Mover illegally operating a business, he is collecting payments via Venmo in DIRECT violation of the user agreement he signed to use this app. He cannot collect payments for services rendered in business transactions. See my picture of the email received from Venmo. I have also filed a case with the State Attorneys Office and have a pending small claims suit. This company has BAD practice and operating illegally. Whatever you do, DO NOT USE and definitely do not pay him via Venmo or any other form other than a legitimate invoice

This was the best experience ever with having movers. The gentleman were very courteous. They moved swiftly and with care! I highly recommend their services! We were not disappointed at all!!! The owner was quick to respond to my inquiry and based on my description of my belongings knew exactly how many men I needed and how many trucks would do the job!! Great work guys!!! We all know how stressful moving is, especially when you need a next day move. These movers made the moving process almost seamless, I just have a couple suggestions. I started by calling Malik, his phone presence is extremely professional so much so that I wish he would have been onsite! To be honest, he is the best part of the company. I called him for a quote on a next day move for a one bedroom. He quoted me $100/hr for two men. In search for a black owned moving company, The Movers came through for me at a time when I was in desperate need for a move. My wife and I were moving from a one bedroom apartment to our very first home, so we didn't want to have the added stress of moving our own stuff.

I could use all kinds of fancy words. I will simply say that Malik is a true professional. He is hardworking, honest and kind. I have moved MANY times in my short 50 years and all would have been better with Malik! His partner, Javed, is equally hard working and kind. The work is only complimented by the reasonable cost. Malak was awesome to work with for my last minute need for moving help! I called him on a Wednesday needing two moving helpers for that upcoming Saturday and he gave me a great quote and was extremely professional!

This company is the ultimate in customer service, timeliness, efficiency, follow up and flawless moves. I called around to other companies and their rates were not only much higher but times were not as accomodating. I was moving my mother's antique furniture, something Malak, the owner picked up on immediately, and handled each piece with care, wrapping each piece to ensure no scratches or breaks.
I will only use The Movers for future moves and have already begun telling my friends and neighbors.
