Had a 20' foot Chocolate Merlot tree in my front yard that needed to be removed. Got about 6 quotes and Reliable won the bid. Felt very comfortable with their lead guy, David.
David and two of his guys came in, and within a half hour, the tree and stump were gone and they cleaned up the area. Worth the money.
The only neutral thing I can say is that they are not the most responsive via email; had two or three emails go completely unanswered or answered several business days later, but if you call, they do answer and take care of your situation quickly.

Amazed. Dave and his crew removed an old-growth sycamore tree that broke high up during a horrendous Santa Ana wind and hung precariously over our retaining wall that separates our house from Silverado creek. This wall was built in the 60's following a bad flood and it is our only protection between our property and a flood every winter, so you can imagine how concerned we were about damaging the wall (which would be very costly to fix). They brought in special equipment and brought the tree down piece by piece without so much as scratching our wall. It was quite an impressive and delicate

Our business property needed removal of two bottlebrush trees that were 14 feet tall to make room for a concrete pad. J contacted Dave and provided photos and he estimated by phone. I scheduled the work and added another tree to be removed with no hassle.
Dave's crew arrived on time and managed to maneuver their large vehicles through our narrow driveway... I was very impressed. They cut down 3 trees and grinded down the stumps for concrete, and chipped and cleaned up in a few hours.
Top notch service for a very fair price.

Dave Brown's Reliable Tree Service has done superb work for me for 20 years (& every year since 2007). I have a 60 x 100' lot with 3 really big trees: an Italian Stone Pine (6 ft. diameter trunk), a Ficus that needs major thinning every year (3 ft. diameter trunk) & a Pittosporum tree (18-in diameter trunk). I also have 3 smaller trees.
From the first day they worked for me, they have been punctual, work very hard and do a great job, including cleanup. They damage nothing, despite the very limited working area. As part of the quote process, Dave &

It took 3 calls to get a return call for an estimate. On the day and time scheduled for trimming the crew did not show up and I did not get a call. I called them to find out that the crew was on another job from the day before and they did not bother to call me and let me know they would be late, or that they would need to reschedule. I canceled and will go with another company. If you want my business you need to communicate and be respectful of my time.

I agree with the 5 star ratings for Reliable. What I especially like about Reliable Dave is that you can tell his crew has been well trained, well cared for and they work hard. No branch left behind. Over the years I've had RTS out several times to trim some gorgeous, huge, old pines we have on our property. They do an exceptional job; so much so that our neighbors sit outside afterwards and comment about how high into the tree the trimmer guy was what a nice job the crew did. Other trees and brush are cleared and nothing gets "boxed" or done half-a**.

I had two 40' Mexican Palms I needed removed. I had a tight time-frame to get them taken out because I had contractors coming in to do some work and the trees needed to be out.
Reliable provided me a quote quickly, in-person. They were much less expensive than other arborists, who seemed reluctant to even do the work, even at the high prices I was being quoted. I thought with the price I was paying I'd get cut-rate service. The only thing "cut" about it was the cutting equipment they used to dismantle the trees. They had a professional crew, big trucks to haul the debris away

David Brown came over and looked at my trees and we sat down and discussed exactly what I wanted done including taking pictures for his crew to see. His prices where reasonable. They where out the next day to start the job. Cleanup was very good and no damage to my property. Trees look great. I will definitely be using him for all my tree services. If you are looking to have tree service give him a call!!!!

Just had an Appointment for the estimate. Maybe I'm a little too impatient. Complete review and explained everything, also talked about additional work (at my request).
Pricing seems very reasonable and thorough.

Called a couple of times a year ago and he never showed for an estimate not returned my calls. Called earlier this week and he said he would come by and look... never did. I called him a few times after that and left messages. No return calls.
I understand he may be busy, but that's not the way you conduct business. Would not recommend.
I gave him a second chance a year later and he pulled the same flakiness.

Another AWESOME job topping, thinning out and shaping my large Eugenia tree. Reliable Tree Service is by far the most professional I've ever had or seen. I've employed their services prior and was extremely satisfied. True arborists. Dave, the owner is very knowledgeable, caring, accommodating, affordable and reliable. Dave is great... Almost too thorough, don't hear that often with contractors. Have used him for various projects. His company does more than trees. Really good, nice crew. Pretty much same crew always. You don't want someone that changes crew often. Very efficient and best of all, a fair price. If your getting estimates, put him on your list! I have not lived in Yorba Linda long, new the state. It's nice to find a honest contractor.

I found Dave on Google first (and then I heard him mentioned through Facebook - Yorba Linda Buzz) and got a quote from him and two other companies. I found out that getting prices on cutting palm trees was extremely subjective!
I really liked Dave though. He came over, he knew exactly what he was doing, he knew the very complicated tree names, and was very easy to talk to. He assured me that he had workers comp insurance, and all that good stuff, and gave me a fair price. We talked about it a bit and then I was sold.
His crew came over when it worked out for me. They were super nice and friendly

I can't say enough good things about Dave Brown & the guys at Reliable Tree Service. They are awesome.
The whole project started when I called Dave to give us a bid for trimming the giant pine trees in our backyard in October. He came out promptly and gave us a good bid (we had used him for this service a few years ago). I called him back on 10/30/13 and gave him the go-ahead to do the trimming & landscape removal. His guys were there early the next morning and before the day was done they had trimmed all the trees and removed 2 ficus trees and a bunch of overgrown plant material in

We have used Reliable Tree Service for years and I am really happy with their service. Most recently an unsolicited tree service told my father he had to remove a tree. He quoted a really high price and told my father it was an emergency, he needed to take it down right away.
When my father showed me his card I told him, no, Dave at Reliable does our tree work, I'll give him a call. Dave came out, quoted the job and took care of it in a few days. And he was able to save the tree :)
