Stumpy's Tree Service was founded by Martin and Anne-Marie Jakobsen in 1976. Originally, Martin performed all of the tree work himself. Equipped with just a chainsaw and a pickup truck, he was truly a one-man show. Over the past 40-plus years, the business grew into the respected company it is today.

Storm-Damaged or High-Risk Trees - Here in eastern Massachusetts heavy wet winter snow frequently damages trees. In the springtime, soaking wet soil can cause trees to topple over in high winds.

I am delighted to have discovered Stumpy's. Their crew took down a hickory tree that split in the recent Nor'easter and removed deadwood from several trees as well as debris from past storms. They were meticulous about cleaning up. I would give them six stars if I could.

I wanted to say thank you for the kind crew at Stumpy's that took care of 2 dead trees for me today while they were working across the street. I know it added a few minutes to their day but I can't express how thankful I am for their willingness to grab them. They did a great job cleaning up the area they were working in. Stumpy's Tree Service is simply the gold standard.. The arborist was knowledgeable and professional and provided a reasonable estimate for the work.. The office staff is responsive and pleasant. After dealing with other tree removal companies, it was clear that Stumpy's was the superior choice for this job. We hired Stumpy's 21 years ago and it is still number one for tree removal, stump grinding, and pruning.

I used Stumpy's Tree Service on Friday. I was extremely pleased with their work. Not only were they right on time but their professionalism, work procedures, safety and client interraction were above and beyond expectation.
To cap it all off, their clean up was so good that you would never know that they were here. yes, I highly recommend them and will use their services if needed in the future.
