Guess I should have read the reviews before wasting a weekday to have Matz come to my house to give me a bid on complete hvac redo. This would be 40,000 to $50,000 job. When i called to ask if they could send someone a little more experienced than a guy who had previously worked as a server at Buffalo Wild Wings, the GM just got caustic with me. I explained I didn't want to waste my time or there's and just wanted someone experienced enough to solve a real problem with the current install. He basically seemed to say he was retiring in 2 years and didn't need anyone questioning

I am a recent homeowner in Southhampton. My heating unit was making noise and this company was highly recommended. The worker came to my house . Of course the unit didn't make the noise while he was there but he said I needed a new connector. I got the connector ( which I am not really sure was critical) , paid for the service and signed for a one year maintenance agreement. Shortly after he left , the noise started. I recorded it and sent it to the office. They thought it might be the blades and agreed to send someone back the next day. The same person came back was there for 5 minutes and

They charge you to send someone over to estimate the cost of your job if you don't agree to the estimate. Otherwise they waive it.
Also, they are lousy at following through with things they say they will do like sending the actual estimate. They never sent me an estimate even though i asked for it twice. Then, because I never got it, I never approved it so they sent me a bill for generating the estimate instead! There techs seems to know what they are doing though.

We manage a good sized office building in the Port Jefferson area and recently decided to replace the remaining 6 heaters since the remaining 3 had been replaced more recently. Keith and his crew worked around the schedules of our tenants and installed those last 6 heaters in less time than originally projected. They worked cleanly and their crew was very polite and respectful of our tenants and their guests. I would not hesitate to recommend them for your projects and more importantly I will use them for any projects we have in the future.

I had my Air Conditioners and Heating System replaced. Dominick ran the entire job. He and his team are outstanding. Dominick is bright, knowledgeable and one of the best team leaders I have met. He orchestrated the entire job from coming to see the site prior to final touches in the end. I would highly recommend Dominick and his team for any install work you are having.

The biggest mistake when renovating a home we purchased was hiring Matz-Rightway in December. We paid to have two new systems put in, both with UV lights and one with a humidifier. All was fine until we switched to AC in the spring. They never installed a drain for the condensation and flooded and ruined our home. Thankfully our and their insurance is rectifying that. When they came to install the drain they then broke a coil in the unit and it stopped functioning. They then sent their "top guy" to repair it. It worked for a week and broke down again. They made all sorts of promises through

Doesn't keep appointments unless your a contract holder. How do you expect to get customers like this!!
Made an appointment weeks ago before the heat came, now because of other people issues my appointment gets changed. I don't want to have an emergency that's why I made an appointment. Horrible way to do business. All customers are important not just contract holders.

I have been a Matz-Rightway customer for almost 15 years and at several different locations in East Hampton. I have always used them to perform the seasonal service on our AC and HVAC systems. During this time I have appreciated their high-quality and attentive service, so there was no question that, when I bought a 1890 cottage in the village, that Matz would install the AC systems for me. I have always found the office staff to be super helpful and the field technicians very knowledgeable and almost obsessive compulsive in their approach to their work. I Have used Matz-Rightway for almost a decade. I find them to be very responsive, knowlegable & customer focused. I have a Priority Maintenance Agreement which entitles me to have my HVAC system maintained 2x/yr. I recently had a dispute regarding a spring service call that required a 2nd visit because it was too cold to check system properly. When I went to use the AC for the first time when it did get hot, the condenser was not running & it did not work. The worst. The woman manning the phones doesn't even apologize for making you wait 5+minutes on hold only to them not be able to provide you with any update on the part she ordered. What's even worse is that Matz gave the AC a clean bill of health in July, were called back again in early August and again in late August. On the THIRD visit I finally got an honest technician, who told me that the fan motor has likely been brown for quite some time (last two guys missed it!). Do not, do not use Matz--they are at best really bad at their jobs and at worst simply dishonest.

They wanted to charge me $850. for a $182.part with installation. I now remember why we never renewed our contract with them. I would like to point out I was not aggressive or rude. I was willing to keep the service contract, but cancel the part and have my husband do it himself since he was qualified and licensed. They wanted to break the agreement. They would call me back and let me know. However they were extremely assertive over the phone. Contract now cancelled.
It's really shameful that business ethics and customer service has fallen so low.

Not too keen on this company. Tech was obnoxious --- told me "i could afford it" because I have a little (and I mean little !) place in the hamptons (Jack B) Second tech said that they couldn't install remote thermostat from another company and quoted me $900 for honeywell remote thermostat. Meanwhile, on Amazon a honeywell remote smart thermostat is under $200.00 ---- so $700 just for labor? I just get the feeling that they are only interested in the $ and I don't have

I have a solid understanding of how homes function, although heating/air con is not my specialty. I research costs and processes online/ask my Dad or a friend in the industry, if I need help to understand something.
Matz sent a young gentleman who pretty told me I needed a new gas furnace, as mine was way past needing replacement and "something could happen" (whether high carbon monoxide emissions, or worse) to which I replied that I would research new furnaces online

I had them come do a tune up for 99.99 plus the cost of the filter.
When they arrived they did ot have the right size filter , they said they would come back with the right size and only charge me for the filter since I already paid for they service call.
The next day I got a call saying just the filter would cost $ 180.00 and if I wanted the filter and uv system replaced it would be $ 850.00.
Online the filter cost is $80.00 and the filter kit with uv lights is 160.00 both of these items were genuine Lennox items and merv16 rated , theses were discount prices where the company is still making

These guys are great. Unfortunately, I had my furnace installed by a different company two years ago. When it went out on the coldest day of the year, I waited 12 hours and that other company never even showed up to repair it. In freezing desperation I called Matz and they arrived in less than 2 hours. Given the amount of workload they must have had on that particular day, I give them a lot of credit.
