Called to repair washing machine. Price to repair was more than half the cost of a new one. Sometimes you get bad news. Paid my service call fee. Everyone deserves pay for their time. Curtis recommended buying a commercial washed. Got removal of old one, hoses and delivery free for mentioning his name. Very happy with new washer. When the dryer goes I will go to a commercial one also. Over 20 years with Shaw's and still happy.

Curtiss was very professional each time he came to first check on the issue and when he came back to fix it. He followed up to make sure it was working properly. He was swapped with calls and appointments but he still managed to keep in touch and provide great service.

We have a fridge over 30 years old and was very happy with it till the icemaker went out. We called are regular repairmen and he does not do Hollister. We had seen the Shaw's Appliance repair truck and knew they had been in business in Hollister foever. We gave them a call and came right out and he confirmed it was the icemaker. Two days later it was all fixed...very happy with Curtis Shaw

The original owner was great. The new owner does not back up his work. We had dishwasher repair and there was a problem. When I called he did not return my call. I finally reached him and explained my problem and he said he was going out of business and would not be able to help me. However they are still opened??????

Kitchen Aid booked them for a warranty and repair. Guy shows up opend the mircowave door and closes it and says its the main board. Charges my wife $100 for coming out even tho kitchen aid already sent them a blank invoice for them to fill out and send back to them.
Wife was home alone at the time and wasent looking for trouble so she paid him and asked him to leave.
I contacted Kitchen Aid and they said we are not supposed to be billed for any services as they have sent over 3 blank invoices for them to fill out and send back.
I called shaw and they refused to issue a refund and said the check

Within in the last several years Curtis has helped me out of some real jams. He is GREAT technical, very professional and friendly. I would recommend this company to all The customer service is beyond great! The technician Ethan who came to look into our faulty dishwasher was very knowledgeable and helpful to all my questions. He made recommendations too for future reference. We still need to make decisions for our next step but otherwise, I am very relieved to know that there's an honest local appliance repair here in Hollister. So I requested a quote from another appliance repair company and Yelp did what Yelp does and I'm getting calls from other company's than who I actually requested. Funny thing is that Curtis (owner) is the first who responded!!! Not only that, but he offered solutions to help my problem. Testament to his knowledge; he inquired about my garbage disposal (which was leaking under my sink) and I hadn't mentioned there was a problem. So now I have a great start to possible fixing myself!

We hired Curtis Postle, owner of Shaw's Appliance Repair, to check out our refrigerator because I thought it was broken. He came on time and determined the refrigerator was fine. I was happy to pay the $65.00 fee and appreciated his honesty and professionalism. He said he bought the business from Mr. Shaw and inherited some irate customer reviews which predated his ownership. I highly recommend this business. I like to call a business and have the owner show up rather than an employee because an owner is more apt to really care about his or her reputation and workmanship. Called Shaw's appliance repair since they are local and I wanted to support local businesses. Prior to arrival, I was advised that there is a $65.00 house call fee. If I chose to have Shaw's appliance repair my refrigerator, the $65.00 would be subtracted from the repair costs.
Person entered my front door, and I showed him my fridge. Total time in house, 10-secounds. He looked at our fridge and stated " well I hope you have $2,500.00 to fix it" I paused and stated, I was hoping it just needed to be recharged since it was a commercial/home fridge and it has been in service

Short version: My washing machine was broken; making a terrible noise and not spinning. I called Shaw's and they fixed it, quickly and inexpensively.
The service was very polite and professional and Curtis made it a point to keep me updated about the part that was ordered and when it would arrive (he overnighted it). The day the part arrived at his shop was the same day he came back to my house to complete the repair. The time between Curtis making the service call to see what the problem was, and the time the washer was repaired, was 2 business days. Awesome.
The washer has now been back
