Don Castro, owner of Golden State Appliance Repair, has been involved in the appliance repair industry since the mid-2000s. Initially working for a national appliance repair company as a dispatcher and administrator, he eventually learned the trade himself, moved back to his home state of California in 2011, and started GSAR in 2013.
We offer appliance repair services for homeowners in the Monterey Bay Area Monday through Saturday, 9am - 9pm. You can book your appointment by using our service request form. To save our customers money, we don't employ a dedicated receptionist - so our customers typically book appliance repair appointments using our service request form.

Honest, professional, timely, and considerate! Don assessed our refrigerator recommended different options to address a veiled problem. We decided what we wanted to do and Don ordered parts. When he came to install them, he noticed a subtle difference that helped him conclusively diagnose the problem. Don told us what he found, made some adjustments, and restored our refrigerator without replacing anything. Don and GSAR are our go-to service for all appliance repair needs.

I highly recommend Golden State Appliance Repair. Don has tackled some obscure appliance problems for me. He does the research, finds the parts and always comes through with a successful repair. He repairs all kinds of appliances and manufacturers. I am so grateful to have someone of his expertise. What a great experience. I broke our dishwasher last weekend. Looked on Yelp to find a repair company and I found GSAR. Don was great to deal with he listened to my issue and setup an appointment. Came out replaced the hinges on my dishwasher did a great job and recommended some changes to the dishwasher soap we are using. Thanks Don, Great Job!

I had a refrigerator where the water filter no longer worked and needed repair. I had another local company come to inspect it as we had used that company for our washing machine. The other company tech clearly didn't want to fix it and quoted hundreds of dollars and even said he just didn't want to have to bend down and work under the fridge. I searched again and found Don at GSAR who communicated with me, diagnosed the problem over the phone and ordered the part. When he arrived he was right and even found the fridge was leaking.
