It's always fascinating to think back on how much Roof Hugger has changed over the years. When my friend and partner Red McConnohie and I started Roof Hugger, our goal was to create something that would allow a new metal roof to be installed over an existing metal roof. It had to work for any new panel, be easy to install, economical and structurally correct.
We can typically get Component quote back with in 1-2 days, and Engineering quotes could take 2-3 days. Thank you for your interest in our metal roof retrofit sub-purlin systems. Roof Hugger Retrofit Sub-Purlins are zee-shaped structural members that are typically 10 to 12 feet in length. They are made from 16 Ga., 0.060 Min., 50 KSI structural grade G-90 galvanized steel and specifically notched to fit over the ribs of the existing metal roof panels. This factory notching provides a correct "structure to structure" connection with the least possible increase in assembly height.
