A woman-owned business is rare in today's remodeling industry, but the idea was virtually unheard of in 1976, when our founder, Linda Gridley, set out to create a company that would offer homeowners both a better home improvement experience and a great project.

Our remodel experience (Fall '18 to Fall '19) with Gridley was very positive. Ours wasn't the typical project - we underwent a complete exterior refresh with new roof, siding, trim, windows, doors, and added a covered 6 ft. covered porch/sitting area on the front of the house. It was very extensive. Our designer, Gemma, was fabulous. Construction management (Roger) was wonderful. Ownership/admin (Linda, front desk) were always very polite and professional.

We did a kitchen remodel with Gridley in 2018-19, and we are still thrilled with the results! Loved working with their super competent crew. It was a long process, and inevitably there were a few delays and hiccups, but overall, the project went very smoothly, with the crew going above and beyond for us (making a big push for our New Year's Eve party, for instance). Their design process helped us make thoughtful decisions and kept change orders to a minimum. We had great communication with the crew, who were always careful to check in and make sure that we were getting what we wanted.

Gridley was a pleasure to work with. This construction company works like a well oiled machine. They have a process they follow, a certain way of doing things, and I think that's what makes them so successful. Sadly having to changed our feelings and rating. We wanted to use Gridley for a kitchen redesign. We completed the design contract but the cost was over $200k WITHOUT appliances for new cabinets, structural wall removal and adding a kitchen island. Communication not great with Lori the designer. We asked for designs at a lower price as we felt she was designing way beyond what we needed and unnecessarily moving stoves, sinks etc that added to the project cost. She came back with a price even higher. Not feeling like a valued return customer and sadly won't use them or refer them based on this

We selected Gridley based on recommendations from friends that had worked with them and family with local building experience. Linda Gridley has an exceptional team. Lisa, our designer, listened, was flexible, and offered varying levels of advice based on our needs and knowledge. Quotes and dates were spot on. We wanted to create an open kitchen and family room in our 1950's ranch which would open up the existing rooms yet keep consistent with the feel of the rest of our home. We chose Gridley to perform a major remodel of our home. We had lived in the house about 20 years and had routine maintenance performed but not much else. I would recommend Gridley for all design and construction projects. Gemma was our designer and she transformed an awkward space into a beautiful and tremendously usable kitchen. The computer modelling is so helpful to visualize nearly exactly how the project will turn out so you know just what you are getting. Gemma also guided us --very patiently(!)-- through all of the hard choices, like tile and granite, before the project even began so there was no panicked running around during the construction. We worked with Erin for design and Greg for the build. Both of them are a pleasure to work with. Erin worked with us on our many tweaks to her design, and Greg ran a tight crew while providing excellent customer service. They finished ahead of schedule on our remodel (demo of a giant brick fireplace, installing new and resurfacing old hardwood, installing a new sliding door, fixing a sag in the garage roof).

We just completed a complete kitchen remodel, and we couldn't be happier. I've experienced several remodeling projects from different companies (bathroom remodel, garage renovation, master suite new construction, large backyard landscape), and this was the best of the bunch. Gridley really does a thorough job of helping you come up with a good design for your project and does a very nice job of making it come to life. However, when we discovered two years after the project was done that a shower had been leaking into the wall and caused significant damage, they repaired the damage but charged us a couple thousand for the repairs.

Worked with Linda and the Gridley company team on a number of projects : new window, window seat, taking a wall back to open up a room, kitchen upgrade etc etc and was delighted with every member of their team , the quality of the workmanship etc. They walked me through the challenges of the planning and permit process and were responsive to the changes I added (!) along the way :) The outcome is delightful and really changed up the home for the better..........an amazing difference :)

Gridley company redid my master bath a few years ago. I'm pretty hard to please and yet I was very pleased with everybody from Gridley. The quality of their work - carpentry, tile, etc is very high. Their project management team is always on top of things. They got done on time and on budget and it looked awesome. Now, a couple of years later it still looks and works great - we've had no problems and the materials and finishes have stood up to wear and water. People see it and think it is new.
