Damm Masonry is a family owned and operated business that has proudly served DuPage, McHenry, Cook, Kane and DeKalb Counties for the past 30 years. Our skilled masons have experience in a diverse number of masonry project types, including chimney repair, tuckpointing, brick, stone and concrete work and a multitude of other restoration projects, both on the residential and commercial level.

Damm Masonry's Mission Statement: The owners and employees of Damm Masonry understand that all work comes from the Good Lord above, and therefore it's our responsibility to treat all our customers fairly, honestly and with the utmost respect. Tom Damm's career in masonry began when he hired on as a laborer with a union masonry contractor when he was 18-years-old.

All questions are answered to the customer's satisfaction before any work begins.
In the course of several months, I have had several jobs done by Damm Masonry. First, my chimney was deconstructed because of lightning damage. The internal tiles were replaced, and the chimney was rebuilt to code height. The completed chimney looked great and was functional with a new concrete cap to keep water out.

It’s easy to see why this business is so highly rated. Tom was very flexible and easy to contact - we were able to go from the quote to having the work done extremely quickly. We recently moved into a brick house that needed a lot of all-around TLC (we had leaking brick, chimney seal issues, the works) - Tom and crew were able to take care of all the pressing issues and small details in one fell swoop - the attention to detail was equally good, no matter how big or small the issue. Tom and his crew are extremely skilled while still being very reasonable with pricing. During a home renovation…buried under drywall, and previous layers of home renovation we found an original floor to ceiling, 3 sided, white stone fire place. What an amazing find, but it needed a complete restore, not to mention the chimney was in need of an immense amount of work. Tom was referred to us by a friend and he didn’t disappoint. The fireplace was NOT in the original plans, but after Tom got his hands on it, it quickly became the centerpiece for extensive home remodel. So….now, thanks to Tom

I can't say enough good things about the work Tom did for my house. He rebuilt part of my chimney, and fixed a ton of water issues in my basement that other companies missed. Tom is incredibly knowledgeable, and dedicated. He truly cared about fixing my chimney and water problems, and made sure the job was done quickly, as well as correctly. I had a chimney with mortar degradation as well as a serious cap problem that was allowing water into our house. The repairs that Tom and his crew completed required extensive scaffolding due to the location of the chimney. Tom took great care in placing all equipment in a manner that did not damage other areas of our house or landscape, contrary to what we were told by other contractors in terms of what would be required. First job of the chimney was off to a slow start but the finished job was excellent.
The second job of fixing the bathroom with sanding and repair the seams and such was okay. The first cost was okay But he never came back for the second cost. Left paint to be cleaned up all over the top cabinets.
Never came back for the second coat.
Was going to rebuild the back deck. Said okay and never showed up to get started. After two weeks of this asked for my money to be returned. Received only half back.
Now, Tom Damm does not return any phone calls.
Seems like he took my money and hit the road.

I am a senior citizen who has been scammed by a sweet talking Tom Damm Don't be fooled by this bate & switch man. He did secure loose bricks on my stairs but put 3 black bricks on the back stairs on the first job but would not give a receipt for this even asking 3 times. Then he put a 3x10 cement & brick sealer on my front walk (without my permission) and can be seen by anyone, I looked nice so, I asked how much for the stairs, walks & patio. Tom said $500 for all. He got the job but asked for the $500 cash so he could get the supplies. Nothing has been done since the

I was very satisfied with response and work by Damm Masonry for a chimney replacement. Quote was provided same day as initial contact. The quote was clear on possible additions depending on conditions found during demolition of old chimney. The very poor condition of my chimney, due to work done by the previous homeowners contractor, caused some extra work and materials. The added charges were reasonable and work was completed on schedule despite some sketchy weather conditions. Very happy with brick matching for my 60 year old home. Original bricks are no longer made but Tom found a very good

Called Damm Masonry for some brick pavers that needed to be lifted due to settling on my front walkway. He was out in less than 2 days and even added some cement to reinforce and to keep it from happening again!! Second time I have used them in less than a week and they came through right away. Very happy with the work and response.

Do yourself a favor and stay away. I had Tom Damm come out and give me an estimate on some patio work. He came on Wednesday and we agreed on the price. He said he could do the work on Saturday unless something unexpected came up on another job but that either way he'd call me to confirm. I didn't hear from him so on Friday around 4:30 pm I called him. He said he was in the middle of something and would call me back in a couple of hours. It's now Monday morning and I haven't heard a word from him. Suggest you also check out the Better Business Bureau on this company as
