Joseph Sauter is the Owner and President of Your Chimney Sweep, Inc., which he founded in 1982. He has over 30 years of experience in the chimney and venting industry, and has served on the Board of Directors and as the Ethics chairperson for both the National Chimney Sweep Guild (NCSG) and the Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA).
For more than 30 years, homeowners throughout the Indianapolis area have trusted us to meet all of their chimney and fireplace needs. From cleaning to relining and video inspections, we provide the most thorough services paired with the most professional and courteous customer care. Just had the premier chimney sweep, Joe, from Your Chimney Sweep out for his biennial chimney inspection. He and his assistant were efficient, capable, honest and friendly. Joe has schooled me in proper fireplace do's and don't's. This being my first fireplace, I have been grateful. His no-nonsense, with a hint of humour, demeanor has been appreciated. Technician came out and did a thorough inspection/cleaning of our Chimney and our dryer vent that was completely clogged. They went over a report with pictures of the work and anything that needed repaired. It was very easy to set up an appointment via their website. Overall a great experience!

Called for an inspection / cleaning on 10/27/20. First available inspection was 12/11/2020. Inspector showed up and within 30 seconds I was advised that our fireplace was “out of code” and they would not preform any work. There website did not contain a disclaimer that they only work on modern fireplaces. Do not use this company if your home contains an older fireplace.

Jenny who scheduled the appointment was very professional after that it was a bad experience. The man that came to clean our dryer duct was very unprofessional. He acted like he didn't want to be here. He didn't even say hello or introduce himself. He checked the vent and said that he couldn't clean it because it wasn't up to code because it wasn't outside. It vents under our outside deck. He definitely could have told me that in a more professional way, he was very condescending. He told me he wouldn't clean it because it was not up to code, said have a good day and walked away. I'm honestly glad

We have been using Your Chimney Sweep for over ten years, which makes us happy repeat customers. They are knowledgeable, experienced and excellent at their work. In fact, I believe that Joseph also trains others in the process and safety required for chimney sweeps.
The equipment used keeps your house dust-free. With some of the new methods and technology, it may not even be necessary for them to climb on your roof (depends on your chimney and situation, however). They show you before and after photos so that you can actually see the amount of soot or creosote removed.

Great chimney sweeps! After dealing with a pretty abysmal group of sweepers who never actually managed to sweep my chimney, I decided to give Your Chimney Sweep a try. First, I noticed how great they are with communication. You can request an appt. right through their website (yourchimneysweep.com) and they are quick to respond. When inclement weather was forecasted for the day of our sweep, someone from them called me and confirmed that they expected to still make the appt. despite the weather and would continue to stay in touch if that changed. I really appreciated that level of communication

5 stars are a MUST for this company! Scott and I first found Your Chimney Sweep on Yelp and they were quick to respond to our questions and set up a date to come to the house. This time of year, the wait is a little longer (we waited a couple of weeks) but no big deal :)

Very professional business. I wish I had called them first. Mr. Sauter explained everything clear, concisely and made recommendations based on his professional experience and my needs.
I had attempted to work with several other companies and they were either unavailable, didn't respond or attempted to schedule a series of appointments "Your Chimney Sweep" accomplished in one day.
I would be happy to do business with them again and most likely will with no reservations.

YCS came highly recommended and i'm so glad we picked them! Bryan came out to clean & inspect our 1915 fireplace. It was decided that a wood-burning stove insert was the best option for our circumstances. Joe, Bryan & Dan came out and installed it. Then Joe gave us the wood-burning stove 101 tutorial and gave us oodles of important information to properly use our stove. Bryan gave us the name & number of a great guy to get our wood from. There arent many of these places around to do what they do but this place was the only place that had a good review. I took the chance and I'm glad I did. The lady that answered the phone was very nice and not too chatty...scheduled me in and was very pleasant in general. They were scheduled today for 1:30. They were an hour late BUT.....I can handle people being late as long as there is communication! Not only did she call be BEFORE they were late to make sure I wouldn't need to reschedule but Brian (the tech) also

Finally a company that does superior work, shows up as scheduled, cleans up after themselves and finishes on time!! I cannot tell you how pleased my husband and I are with this company
We hired them to rebuild the chimney from the roof up. Ron arrived at my home 3 days prior to the scheduled start of the job to MATCH the brick. We have a multi colored brick home, in Avon, with colors of dusty rose, various shades of tan and brown. After checking several brick chips we thought we found several close matches. On Monday he arrives on time and began the tear down. Once that was done he began
