A chimney cap is a protective cover placed on the top of the chimney to keep out rain and prevent leaks.

As with chimneys that are not maintained properly, dryer vents that are not maintained properly can cause fires. 2 Nothing should be blocking the vents. Check the area where your dryer vent releases its exhaust to be sure there is nothing in front of it. Also, check the vent itself to be sure it is not bent or crushed.

Michael came to our North County condo location and did both a chimney sweep and a dryer vent cleaning. He did a great job! Was informative, showed me camera work during the process, confirmed that both were necessary and beneficial as evidenced by the soot and lint removed. He even caulked around the chimney cap, and reset a couple of loose tile nails. We're very pleased, and highly recommend!!!

Had appt w/ Chimney Champ for 12pm on Friday Oct 9th for an estimate on fixing our chimney cap. Before our appt I had been texting Michael about our needs for a chimney cap.
I sent him pics. He said, your cap is fine, you need a chase cover. OK - great. As our text convo continued, I told him we have a gas fireplace. He says, (. . . I'm almost sure you have a wood burning fireplace but in your case you happen to have gas logs installed." I told him, no, we have a GAS fireplace. Mind you, he has never even been to our home yet. He then tells me to look for a tag on the inside of

Our stackable dryer's vent needed cleaning. Micheal responded quickly to our request for an estimate. He scheduled with us in just a few days. He wore a mask and asked if he should remove his shoes. The work was done to our satisfaction and he was very knowledgeable. We had him provide us a quote for our fireplace chimney cleaning and we look forward to scheduling with him again.

I have a 1920's house with an old chimney. It needs a good cleaning. I called Mike at Chimney Champ. He went into great deal on the phone about what is involved with pre-1930's chimneys. Bottom line: I need a liner which Mike doesn't do. However, he referred me to someone who does.
I am VERY impressed with Mike's honesty and integrity. He could have booked my appointment, charged me for showing up, all to tell me that the chimney needs repairs he doesn't do.
When I am ready for a chimney cleaning, I will definitely call Mike.

I called Chimney Champ after we realized we had no chimney cap/ screen (had a visit from a very scared pigeon that couldn't get out of the chimney). Michael was able to schedule a call quickly, had reasonable prices and was very easy to work with. I would call Chimney Champ again if a need arises, and happy to recommend to others.

My old chimney cap needed to be replaced, and Michael was booked out for weeks. However, I asked him to book me in place of anyone who cancelled. He managed to fit me in after about a week, after taking care of another client near to where I live.
Furthermore, Sabbath was approaching, and Michael finished all of the work well before Sabbath started.
Finally, we have a lightweight, clay tile roof, and Michael took everything with him in one trip so as to minimize the possibly of damaging the roof.

Michael was professional but also listened empathetically and showed a real interest in our family. He is a pleasant person to work with. He responds promptly and gave us what seemed like a fair price (well below another I was quoted). He also came out only a few days after I called during the busy season, when others didn't have openings for weeks. He was fast with the cleaning, too!

Michael is a true champion. I inquired on a Thursday morning, he got back to me early that afternoon and we quickly came to a verbal agreement by phone. Within hours Michael was at our house performing the work--the same day!
His communication and work ethic are strong. He clearly explained everything he needed to do and got right to work as soon as we agreed. He was great with our kids and his prices were very reasonable. He took his time to do it right and kept the job site clean and professional.

Mike looked at the chimney chase, confirmed that adequate air flow was present, and explained the whole diagnosis to me in detail. He offered to do the work - at less than 1/3 the price of the scammers, but clearly indicated that he thought there was absolutely no need to do so; instead he did an inspection and actually did fix the one real issue (at no charge!) that the

Mike came buy our new house last week. We wanted him to install a chimney cap. He noticed that there were a couple of loose bricks at the top and recommended that we get those repaired before he put the cap on as we would have to get it taken off and added again, which would create additional expense for ourselves.
He referred us to a contractor that can repair the bricks and we will be calling Mike out to install the chimney cap as soon as the issue is resolved.
We really appreciated his explanation of the problem and his honesty.
