We had a large 80's style stone fireplace that had to go as it was very outdated. We hired the experts at Chimney.com to tear out the old fireplace and put in a new, smaller, and more modern unit. The tear-down only took a half-day, and the new install took one day. We also had them install a mantle and surround for it. We're very pleased with the new look! Nelson installed our new chimney flue tile, top damper, and mortar crown. He and Jimmy removed an old metal flue no longer in use (formerly for the furnace and water heater). They repaired the asphalt shingle roof by installing new wood, tar paper/felt, and replacement shingles. Both tasks were completed within about 4 hours including clean up. I am very happy with their work and craftsmanship.

Brandon was very polite and professional. After inspecting the problem (water was leaking from chimeny crown to inside the house), he immediately idenitified the problem.
David, the mason, did a great job. He was professional and reponsive. Chimeny gave me discount b/c they were not able to show up on the day they were supposed to.

Update: Jimmy called to explain that the office staff had sent the estimate by mistake. That's fair. Seemed like a reasonable explanation. He also explained that the company does not make parts for my gas fireplace anymore. New offer - $5,200. When I asked how much of the $425 would/could be applied. He told me the whole thing.

I only needed my pilot to turn on and the fireplace serviced since the previous renter never turned it on and want to make sure everything is working fine. Technician came, turn on the pilot, lifted a piece of metal covering the outside vent, and charged me $275???!!!!!!
I was told that's the standard charge for the service because they had to drive from MD (so I am paying for their time to drive to my home). Water was leaking from the chimney into one of our fireplaces and this company had put new caps and other extensive work on the chimney three years before; we were fairly pleased with previous work, so I contacted them again. I called them to come out and they squeezed me in on a Saturday morning. The owner came out in Nov. 2018, was brief, and said we could caulk part of the chimney, but, clearly, was not interested in doing any repair work. More rain, more leaking, and I could see water coming in at the top, even after caulking a potentially problematic area. Called again in December 2018

In my experience, a bad option. Very expensive, didn't do a good job the first time, they did not come the 2nd time to complete it until a month later after we called them and called them and then they came for the third time to take pictures of the job but not clear if it's done or not. Plus, one of the employees (I hear he's not there anymore), urinated inside my shed. And btw, they don't ring the bell, they just climb as they please.

Scheduled an inspection and cleaning, they arrived on time as scheduled. That's where the pros end. They looked inside and told us it was not possible to clean out chimney until the damper was replaced--it wasn't broken, just in the way. This seemed odd to me as it was freshly cleaned when we moved in a few years ago so it definitely wasn't a problem then. Said it was "impossible" to clean from above. Would not do the inspection saying it must be cleaned first (it had been cleaned within 2 years and barely used since). Left us with a quote for the work we "needed.

I recently used Chimney.com to change the flue and fix a crack in the cement at the top of the chimney. In terms of quotes, the company was quick to respond to my request. The gentleman who came out was great, gave me a run down of everything that needed to be done and the estimated cost. The bricks on the chimney were disintegrating, and I wanted the chimney capped, so that no cold air could go down it, and that no warm air would escape from the house. Jeremy came out and game what I thought was a fair estimate. He was very polite and professional, and did a great job. He even gave me some information about the best material to use to paint the external chimney/fireplace bricks with. Great communication, a fair price, and excellent work. You couldn't ask for me. This company must have changed a TON since the negative reviews I was reading. Not only were they very reasonably priced, they were extremely nice to work with and have in our home. Even my kids loved them. They swept our chimney about as fast as anyone has before and it looks better than ever. These guys are definitely recommended.
