I recently purchased a home in Portland, a income property/vacation spot. I had my property manager hire a company to clean the chimney and inspect it to do any minor repairs needed for the chimney to be safe to use. I feel the first companies I had come out took advantage of the fact that I wasn’t there and where basically telling me that the… whole chimney was in horrible shape and that I needed to retro fit a new chimney in the existing one etc. We’re talking over $5K in work.
