With in this division, our experienced masons provide all aspects of masonry, from minor point up and repairs to complete construction of new projects. J. Birkenheier can also assist in the design phase of your project. He can also assist in budget forecast to help minimize large repair costs. The process of repairing or replacing existing deteriorated or damaged masonry units.
The removal and replacement of deteriorated sealant joint typically at window perimeters, building expansion joints and other wall penetrations. Protective treatments applied to the exposed surface of masonry designed to provide a first line of defense against moisture intrusion. Joints that are improperly prepared will also hasten this weakening.
The Process of chemically or mechanically removing biological fungus, pollutants and other contaminates to restore the masonry to its original appearance. Vines like common English Ivy are destructive latching onto brick and stone often damaging the structure of the masonry work. We remove and neutralize growth latching on masonry units.
The chimney can be a dominant, interesting architectural feature on the exterior of a home. As such, a well-designed home needs a fireplace and chimney that are aesthetically and architecturally pleasing as well as effective and energy efficient. We are qualified and trained to do a thorough inspection to asses and determine the proper course of action for your fireplace and chimney.

He wasn't exactly "cheap", but my old house needed a lot of work! Circa 1890's three stories tall, four square family heirloom home. I'm so glad I trusted all the work to Birkenheier. The new chimney is beautiful and works great! I can actually use and enjoy my fireplace. (Shane is super knowledgeable and explained how my old cast iron firebox works) No more water coming through the basement walls like a sieve. The exterior water proofing (they carefully dug the trenches by hand!), repointing all the stones, (they recut some of them also, as I had an area that had begun to bow out as old mortar
