Why do I especially like kitchen remodeling? Kitchens are the HEART of the home in daily life. When done well, kitchens can be a joy to cook in, and help bring family and friends closer together. But this requires understanding that kitchens should be far more than just attractive cabinets and appliances!

You have a choice of many different types of design professionals to help you with your remodeling: architects, interior designers, specialized kitchen designers, even some contractors who imagine they have a flair for design! Which one do you choose? And do you really need an architect for something as "simple" as a kitchen remodeling?

Well, ask yourself, after spending oodles of money, when your project is done, how do you want to feel about it? Hopefully, just like these folks did about theirs! Licensed architects are specifically trained in "big picture" thinking, and can create options that might include a small breakfast nook addition, opening up a structural wall or raising the ceiling, or exploring whether your kitchen is even in the right place in your house!
Services
You know you need a kitchen remodeling. Your kitchen doesn't work at all, it looks old, and the appliances probably need to be replaced. But kitchens are probably the most expensive $/SF of any remodeling project. Before you spend a significant amount of money - usually tens of thousands of dollars - shouldn't you look at major options that you might not have considered?
You've been thinking about your project for a long time, and you realize that you need some PROFESSIONAL advice, but aren't ready to take the full plunge. Or you have a small interior design project that just needs some guidance. I offer a limited flat fee package that may be just what you need! You can get the benefit of over 30 years of design experience - even for a small project.
Is your design all that it could be? You're probably going to be spending tens - if not hundreds - of thousands of dollars on your project. Isn't it worth getting some good design advice from a seasoned pro? I've been on design and software forums for almost twenty years, and see many people posting their designs, hoping to pick the brains of everyone else.
This is a single case study in what can be accomplished with some professional assistance. The house was built in 1965, and very little had been done to it since then. The client's mother owned this home (and the client had actually lived here as a child!) when she passed away. The house was stuffed with a lifetime of, well, "stuff."
Generally the "BEFORE" is shown first here, followed by the current house as viewed from the street. You may get a better view by moving one step either way on the street. A new Craftsman house that sold in less than 24 hours after being put on the market, breaking the price barrier for the neighborhood!
