Services
To create and maintain superior public and private landscapes while being environmentally responsible and fair to our clients and staff. For 40 years our mission has been to create and maintain imaginative and sustainable landscapes in Tompkins County, NY, including complete site development and garden creation for your home and for our community green spaces.
Our landscaping crews are capable of maintaining your entire garden all year round. Our teams will mow and trim your lawn or meadow, care for your garden beds and plantings, scout for insects and diseases, and protect your plantings from deer and rodents. No matter what it is that we do, we pride ourselves in leaving your property clean and presentable after every visit.
Cayuga Landscape Company is proud to support our community. We have planted trees, shrubs and flowers at the Sciencenter of Ithaca and Cornell's Lab of Ornithology, and continue to maintain the grounds. We believe that institutions that support and promote science have an invaluable place in our culture.
Cayuga Landscape Company embraces the tenets of sustainability: we buy local plants and materials whenever possible, and thereby reduce fossil fuel usage and help support our local economy. We recycle nursery pots, plastic bottles, paper and cardboard. We compost plants and other biodegradable material.
The Kappa Delta yard looks great! Arrivals being soon and everyone will be so pleased with the planting and color it provides to the front of the house. Outstanding and beautiful! All the gentlemen that worked here were wonderful as well as Chris when he did the estimate. We're really impressed with the amount of four-season interest you've put in, along with deer resistance, beauty, proper proportions, etc.

I bought a tree here and the staff were very helpful in loading it up for me and wrapping it to protect it from the wind, as well as telling me how to plant and care for it so it would grow well in my yard. They told me their plants are grown locally so they have a better chance of doing well in this area (rather than being imported from other facilities around the country)

This company used to be reputable. They do great work if they actually bother to show up.
Unfortunately, the owner has been overbooking, and as a result defaulting on jobs. Even when I reserved my place in line for spring work the *previous November*, they did not get the work done by mid-June and just stopped showing up.
In short: as of 2019, they are extremely unreliable. Do not hire, because even if you hire them, they won't show up.

Inspiring and unique landscape designs, attentive customer service and perfectly finished work that exceeds expectations every time! It is always a pleasure to work with David Fernandez and his creative team at Cayuga Landscape, who have completely transformed our surroundings to be aesthetically pleasing, safe and well lit, and whimsical and enjoyable for our family and friends. A lush, deer resistant, and low maintenance landscape strategy is possible even in our climate, with the expertise and caring work of the highly skilled team at Cayuga Landscape.

This local gem creates one-of-a-kind, sustainable landscapes based on their beautiful aesthetic sense, broad knowledge base, and decades of experience in our climate. There may be times when they are in high demand and one may need to be patient (for example, through Cornell graduation season), but as with many of the best services in Ithaca, they're worth the wait!

My experience with Cayuga Landscape Company has not been good and I’m hoping it will end soon. It started last year when I called to hire them to seed part of the lawn, put in a new garden and refresh another garden. The landscape architect told me many times that they did not need my business and at one point admitted he had forgotten me (should’ve taken that as a hint, right?). He was having some health issues but good ideas initially so we moved ahead, slowly. When I would call with concerns about the progress of the job I would be put through to that same person and finally they moved ahead

We hired Cayuga Landscaping to do a design for our the house we just purchased in Ithaca. It was down hill from there. It took a couple of weeks to just here from them. It took several weeks to have them come out and see the property. A few more weeks to do the design and then they didn't really even incorporate what we wanted in the design, We asked for some changes and to look at other options and they disappeared never to be heard from again. No returned calls - no nothing. Very unprofessional. The good part is that it did not cost us anything even though we were suppose to pay
