Seaford Transfer is a family-owned local, national, specialty moving and storage company headquartered in Yorktown, Virginia. Operations now benefit from an established staff of more than 25 movers, packers, warehousemen, and administration. Seaford Transfer has several authorities to move freight and household good.
All moves serviced 30 miles or under, from house to house, are considered local moves in Virginia. Our local moves are priced based on an hourly rate that starts when our crew arrives and stops when your move is finished. We move people to apartments, new homes, retirement homes, self-storage, rearrange rooms, and more.
Our #1 job is to make sure you are completely satisfied before we leave. Our packers and movers are professional, hard working and personable. They are trained to handle items carefully and take pride in satisfying our customer's needs. All goods are moved with the care and expertise that comes with that specialized training and experience.
All movers in Virginia are required to hold a Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) certificate in order to handle shipments 31 miles or more, between homes. The Virginia Movers & Warehousemen's Association publishes a Tariff which members use as a catalog of services with their associated rates or fees.
Interstate shipments come with their own unique circumstances so the Federal Highway Administration has provided Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move Handbook to consumers preparing for their interstate moves. Wheaton has provided this handbook to describe how these moves work, moving terms, and what to expect on your move.

Thank you to everyone at Seaford Transfer who made our 1-way move to Florida so easy. I had to change the dates and addresses multiple times and still the move itself was flawless. Colby is professional and very detailed. I actually thought he must be an owner because he was so conscientious.  Malik, Michael, Brandon and Kenny work like ants, they don't stop moving, they didn't waste a second playing with phones or smoking or eating or complaining - they were all business while still being friendly, polite and professional. All of the crew handled my possessions as if they owned

These movers were the BEST!! It was a last minute request and they showed up ready to go. VERY professional in all aspects, I didn't worry a bit. And that says a lot since they were transferring a piano from house to house. The only thing they didn't do was tune the piano after moving it!! I HIGHLY recommend this company. Oh and the price was very reasonable as well.

This is a difficult review to write. Seaford Transfer has been five stars for us in several other moves. However, not so this time. It was a couple days after they unpacked what they packed 5 weeks earlier, when my wife discovered four rings missing from her jewelry box. When I looked into my watch box there were five rings missing...all I owned. No one entered our home after the unpackers left. We made a full report to the York County Sheriff's Department and sent a letter to Seaford Transfer. The reply to my letter was surprisingly curt, with an attached claim form. I returned the claim

My wife and I are both pastors in the United Methodist Church. We contacted Seaford Transfer because we knew the owners were active in their local United Methodist church. "Moving day" in the UMC is a well orchestrated event where the outgoing pastor moves out, and the incoming pastor moves in, all on the same day, throughout the whole state. It's a nightmare! For my wife and I, instead of moving from one parsonage to another, we were selling the house we owned, and buying another, in a different town.
