Services
Metro Chimney specializes in Standard Fireplace cleaning. During the cleaning, we will take care of the interior of your house by laying down runner blankets from the fireplace to the nearest doorway of entry. We clean all aspects of your fireplace, cleaning the flue, firebox, and most importantly, the smoke shelf, or engine for your chimney.
An adult must be present at time of service. We need an area roughly 6'x6' space in front of the fireplace for our tools and to do the cleaning. It is helpful if you could move any furniture (couches, tables, chairs, etc.) out-of-the-way before we come to do the sweep. Also, if you could clear a path leading from the entrance door to the area of the fireplace/wood stove so that we can have an unobstructed route to bring in our gear.

I hired Metro Chimney to do a sweep and inspect- the contractor was incredibly friendly, courteous, and on time. The price we paid was significantly lower than most other larger chimney sweeps in Portland, and he didn't attempt to upsell- in fact, he specifically told us to be wary of some tactics used by other companies to bait-and-switch services and upcharge homeowners.
Finally, after the sweep was done he took the time (10-15 minutes) to walk us through proper maintenance and care of our fireplace and chimney. The last time I used a sweep they just swept and left- not an issue by any means

I've called all places in PDX to be given the run around with showing up, estimates, and bs unnecessary stuff. I called this company, the guy picks up the first time, tells me straight up he is really busy due to a family death, but asks me to send him pictures of what I need to point me in the right direction. I send the pictures and in 2 minutes he calls me back and tells me that it is an easy fix and tells me how to do it with detail instructions. WOW! I've never encountered this kind of service in any field. Great way to run a business!!!

Metro Chimney came out to inspect and clean my chimney. Clayton was both professional and knowledgeable. After the clean, I was having some issues with smoke in the house so Clayton came out on his day off to troubleshoot my issues. Turns out the issues were of my own doing. We started a fire together and I learned the do's and don'ts of starting a fire that keeps the smoke in the firebox(not into the house) and up the flu once it's properly heated up. No smoke at all, and he even helped me with a quick fix to a nagging problem I've had all along, smoke in the downstairs whenever there's a fire

I just purchased my home in November and I called on Clayton at Metro Chimney to clean and fix my chimney. I called on someone prior but they didn't show. So I was a little hesitant to try again. Not only was he early, he was very efficient and patient. He cleaned and fixed my fire box amazingly. If you want something done right then call Metro Chimney!

Clayton did an excellent job cleaning my chimney. both inside and out. He was very professional, punctual and tidy. No mess was left inside my house! He also took the time to make sure I fully understood how my chimney works and gave tips on how to dry my firewood.
Clayton also provided some repair work. Moss had damaged some of the exterior. He assessed the damage and provide a very competitive second quote. His workmanship is excellent. My chimney is like new!

A friend recommended Clayton for a chimey sweep service. He identified several things that we needed to do to our chimney to addresses issues we didn't know about, such as cracks in the masonry and a buildup of creosote in the flue. Since we hadn't done a darn thing to the chimney since we bought the house in '06 (it was built in 1910), it wasn't hard to believe that we were behind on our maintenance. Clayton fixed us up with a high quality of work and customer service. His attention to detail gave us confidence in the job he did. Would definitely recommend.

Just called Metro Chimney to see if they could repair what I thought was a broken damper on our fireplace. The gentleman came right out, at the appointment time, and determined that the problem was just a dirty chimney and that a good cleaning (including a 10% discount thank you very much!) would be all we needed. He cleaned it, and gave us detailed information about what size fire would be the most effective for our type of fireplace, and all kinds of other helpful stuff. That guy knows a LOT about fireplaces and we appreciated all the information! Left the work area spotless. We are very impressed
