On 10/21/21 AHS sent AirMax out to inspect my unit due to it not cooling. They failed to do a complete diagnosis check on my system, only checking the the box in attic. (There a unit outside as well)… (this is documented on the inspection sheet). I was informed that the system was completely out of refrigerant & there was a leak in my evaporator coil. On 10/26/21 they returned to replace coil and added 14 lbs of refrigerant. I paid them $1145.
Due to unseasonably warm in TX when I attempted to use my AC on 12/23 to my surprise my home would not get cool. I had to have ANOTHER service request

Our AC went out. Trey arrived, asked a few questions, proceeded to diagnose, and BOOM he found a defective flow switch which was preventing the system from triggering from the thermostat. Trey a spare in his trick, R/R and we had air!! He was professional, courteous, and clearly a guru! He did this a very short time.

Had no issues with my HVAC system prior to calling them; just taking advantage of my home warranty options to use the yearly maintenance.
Scheduling was quick and easy, the person who called me was very friendly. Here's the end of the positive review.

Not sure why all the negative reviews about this company. I used them for homeshield years ago and they did great. Just used them again to install 2 AC's and they were great. Actually best AC installation I have ever seen in a home. Someone always answers the phone and they send techs out within day or 2.

I would give a huge negative star review if possible. Dealing with this company was a nightmare from the beginning. They overcharge for all these supposed code upgrades to get money from you they aren't getting from the home warranty company. I contacted the city who had no idea what all the charges were and why they would be needed. Supposed managers/owners are such cowards they won't even call back when a customer leaves a message(left 2). Their only technician, Mark, is a liar and very rude as his first question to me when he entered my home was "where's your husband?"

Very disappointed in the overall communication and clarity between their receptionist, sales staff and workers. No direct line to contact the people who do the work and in turn would wait days to here back or get any responses. Can only contact the receptionists who leave much to be desired in politeness and customer service. Very rough around the edges attitude.

Via a home warranty company, Airmax came to my home 3 weeks ago and attempted to address an AC issue. The interaction was fine, but now the issue has reappeared. We called to report the problem on Thursday night and were told a technician wouldn’t be available until the following Wednesday. Which is remarkably poor service to a repeat customer when… the original issue wasn’t properly resolved. I had to wait it out in an 84 degree home with two children under 2 until ultimately calling in a different company to fix the issue. I showed that company’s technician my service

In the beginning of May I called my home warranty company about my AC not cooling well. They provided me with Airmax as the provider. The supervisor came out and was very friendly and knowledgeable. He diagnosed it right away. I had a bad coil in the air handler in my attic and had leaked out around half of my coolant. The home warranty company approved the repair and I paid my service call fee plus $95 for the mastic seal that is not covered under my warranty. Adds 'code updates' to get extra cash, please make sure they are checking code for your area and make sure your system isn't grandfathered in to avoid these unnecessary fixes.
A second company came out to check the issue of my AC not working... None of the 'code updates' would have fixed the leak in the line and the refrigerant refill would have leaked out in 48 hours.

Six years ago we bought a 20 year old home with two air conditioners that had been acting up each summer. We weren't in a position to replace them so we relied on American Homeshield (AHS) contractors to keep them going. Seems AHS contractors make a living making service calls so we knew we were buying time. About three summers ago AHS sent Airmax to fix our AC that died on the hottest day in August while family was visiting. The service tech was very knowledgeable and he spent a good deal of time explaining the issues with each unit and what we could do to get a few more years out of them

They are a high volume contractor for American Home Shield (AHS) which is a sham home warranty company that covers very little. Prices get jacked up, AHS pays very little and you still end up out of pocket more money than just going to a regular HVAC company.
The appointment window is 8am-5pm and they will call 30 mins prior. If your schedule allows you to keep your entire day free so you can jump at the moment it's convenient for Airmax, go ahead and give them a call.
The people are friendly which is the only reason they get 2 stars rather than 1.

This is lengthy, so if you don't have time to read it, just do yourself a favor and look elsewhere! Our home is under warranty, and AirMax is a contractor for American Home Shield. The downstairs air conditioning wasn't working, and a call was placed 7/20/2015.
