Competitive Interiors, Inc. was founded in 1989 by Paul and Nancy Cunningham. The company started out as a two person operation, ran out of Paul and Nancy's garage in Deerfield, OH. The company experienced gradual growth in the coming years through tireless effort, great employees, and excellent customers.
Today, Competitive Interiors is a financially sound company with a bonding capacity of over $15,000,000.00. We are a Union Carpentry Sub-Contractor in the Cleveland, Akron, Canton, Youngstown, and Western Pennsylvania markets. We average 80-120 employees, and have had as many as 196 total employees.
Individual project crews range from 30-50 tradesmen, and a few as high as 93. Our main scope of work includes metal stud framing, insulation, drywall, plaster, E.I.F.S., acoustical ceilings, rough carpentry, trim carpentry, doors and hardware. We have also expanded our ability to assist our customers with design engineering projects.

Services
Paul began his career in 1976 in the residential construction industry. He relocated to Houston, Texas, in 1978 where he enrolled in the Carpenter Apprenticeship School. During his fourth year as an apprentice, Paul was promoted to foreman while working on high-rise commercial projects. With the experience he gained in Texas, Paul came back to Ohio in 1988 with visions of starting his own company.
A new 85,000 sf Emergency Department addition on the existing hospital expanding their Level 1 Trauma Unit by providing 10 triage rooms, 44 private patient rooms, new radiology services, and a heated ambulance bay that is able to provide service to 12 EMS squads simultaneously. The project also included renovation of the existing 19,000 sf emergency department, for a total of 104,000 sf.
