The Green Insulation Technologies company is located in Garrettsville Ohio (East of Cleveland & North of Akron). We manufacture Soy based and Castor based, water blown spray foams. We have been manufacturing spray foam since 2007 and ship product to 35+ states, Europe, Asia, the Caribbean and soon New Zealand.
The trend in foam manufacturing is toward Natural Materials known as Natural Oil Polyols (NOPs). The natural oils currently being used are primarily vegetable oils that include Soy, castor, sugar, glycerin, sorbitol & rapeseed. Experts believe that these polyols which contain renewable raw materials will increase in importance as they are regarded as more sustainable than petroleum based materials.
Green Insulation Technologies manufactures two product lines a water blown Soy based foam and a water blown Castor based foam. Since we use water as a blowing agent and not 245fa (liquid hydrofluorocarbon) which is what many manufacturers use in their foams, our foam has NO VOCs or ozone depleting CFCs or HFCs.
Since GIT does not sell equipment, you receive an unbiased opinion of what equipment will best serve your current and future needs. Green Insulation Technologies can then provide you with equipment sources that we have found to be dependable and honest. Below are guidelines to estimate the amount of foam product required to obtain your desired R-value. Step 2. Determine the type of foam to be used for the application (i.e., half, 1.0 1.7 pound). The job is equivalent to 2,000 square feet. If using open cell (half pound) foam you would need just under 3 of foam (desired R-value) 11 divided by 3.8 R per inch = 2.89 inches.
