Chimney rebuilding is usually suggested with the bricks, stones, mortar, or other masonry has lost it's structural integrity. Spalling, cracking, or deterioration of the brick and loss of adhesion andr /or wear of the mortar joints compromise the chimney and can allow water to leak in, or even pieces of the chimney to fall off!

Technician arrived as planned. Looked at flue as requested. Cleaned flue and inside of fireplace. Cleared intake vents. Recommended a minor change in metal cap of wooden chimney (its an insert fireplace) which we implemented. All went very well at a reasonable cost.

I originally asked for a cleaning, assuming that was part of the reason our chimney stunk up the whole house. Beforehand, I got a call with tips on how abate some of the smell (air pressure, who knew) but he would take a closer look when he arrived. When the guy arrived, it turns out our chimney had a major problem and requires a lot more work than we thought—he was kind enough to recommend next steps and not even charge for the inspection!

5 stars really aren't enough to give this company. It is so refreshing to have someone come out, inspect your fireplace, fix something and give you complete honesty. After looking at my chimney he told me that it really didn't need a cleaning and gave me some great advice on what to do down the road. I would HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone and will use them again when we actually do need a cleaning in a few years.

We have had Smoke Stacks look at our chimneys at both of our houses. They did a chimney sweep for one and said the other was fine and said they didn't need to sweep it.
They are very thorough and provide good information on how to care for the chimney. Pricing is affordable as well.

I bought my house this time last year. I hadnt paid attention to the fireplace because of other projects and wasnt sure what was working and not working because the flew wouldnt close I know its a lousy time to have the chimney cleaned, however I really wanted to be able to use it this winter.
Kurt came out for the inspection and maybe cleaning. He was prompt, amiable and very knowledgeable. Turns out I didn't need it cleaned, but should have it replaced in the nearer future. Or have it converted as my house was built in 1947. He refused to take payment for the 15 min visit. Great service

We contacted Kurt to inspect and clean our wood burning fireplace. We had just bought our house so knew very little about this type of fireplace and how to take care if it. Kurt was super quick to respond to our request and when he came out to see us he was on time, which I really appreciated.

I have a extremely large and unique fireplace. I was looking for a new chimney sweep company as I was not exactly happy with the previous one I hired. I saw the excellent reviews and called Kurt and had him come to clean the fireplace. Best decision I made. Excellent company to work with. Kurt came out to give the estimate and was very upfront with the cost and condition of our project. He also provided some less expensive, yet just as high quality options for us. Once the work was started it was done in timely manner, completed before the deadline and no mess was left behind! Heard great things about this company. Hired him and signed the contract of which he signed and sent back. The day before he was to come to our house, I called and asked when we are picking out the brick colors. He said he is not coming because he would lose money on the job because he mis quoted it. I offered to split the difference and he said no. Even though he signed the contract. If he makes a mistake, he does not honor his agreement. We're in our first house with our first fireplace, so knowing how dangerous an unswept chimney can be, we brought Kurt in to inspect our chimney and clean it if necessary. Great! Communication was definitely easy, always called back when I left a message. Showed up when promised, great work cleaning and inspecting and answering questions. Having a new home and lots of questions because we never had a fireplace before, they really helped us out, without charging an obscene amount and did not try to sell us more service than needed.
