When we moved to Macomb county three years ago, the first thing we did was convert our fireplace to be a Gas log fireplace. Not knowing there were so many options available, the Fireside Sales teams at the Macomb Fireside H&H location listened to our wants and needs and took the time to make sure we understood all the options before us. We had never heard of unvented gas logs before. It ended up being exactly what we wanted and here we are today, three years later, loving and enjoying our realfyre unvented gas log fireplace with remote control.

The Utica Fireside and Hearth was my choice, after having many other companies come bid my job for two new gas inserts in my home. The projected time table from ordering to install was on schedule. The two gentlemen that did the install were informative to me about the install and demonstrated a great professional approach (drop clothes etc). The hardest part was them taking away the old insert in my basement. They did have to come back to get it. They had never experienced removing such an old and very heavy insert (estimated 700lbs). They needed a heavy duty handcart. They did return and completed

Good choices at this store for replacement fireplace doors. Purchase was reviewed several time by the staff. When the installer opened the box, it did not have the fireplace screen. He left and I had no follow up from the store, apology, or what they were going to do next. The installer came back many weeks later with the screen. However now it was a fix , make it work versus the factory one piece unit I had ordered. I had expected better.

I can’t say enough good things about my experience with Fireside Hearth and Home. We recently had our marble fireplace removed and had a cultured stone wall and hearth installed with a wood mantle. I sent Daniel our ideas and dimensions and received an itemized quote in less than 48 hours. We then went to the store to pick out our stone and received a thorough explanation of the style and colors and they were able to give opinions and advice to get us the right selections. I LOVE my new fireplace door and the customer service I received at Fireside in Utica was exceptional from the moment I stepped into the showroom to “browse” through installation today. Update April 2021: Bought a gas insert 9 weeks ago, and it was just put in. Everything AFTER signing my receipt has not been good. We hired fireside to update the tile, Jeff came out and did a site survey and we agreed to his estimate. Our instructions were "provide the tile and grout". Installation day, the first thing out of the guys mouth was "the surface is prepped for tile, we won't do it". So, they did not do the tile. They installed the gas insert. It did not have the liner we ordered, and it had the wrong front accent we ordered. We started the burn to cure

I would like to say in the beginning we set out to buy a electric fireplace and traveled several different stores to make sure we would get the help we needed first hand in person didn't want to order on line so we ended up here at the Utica store with the dimensions we had because we have a wood fire place we no longer use. They gave me some hints on getting a good flame pattern and saved me a lot of time getting it all back together. They have everything from wood, to gas, to electric and traditional to Wow! I highly suggest that you never use FireSide Hearth and Home. Here is why.
Upon calling to have my remote looked at, I was told it would cost $225 for someone to come to my house. I asked why so much and almost said no thank you, but the lady told me that the service included an over all check of the fireplace. This included checking of the embers, the logs, the flame, and making sure it running over all well. Since we just bought this house 2 years ago I booked it. Shame on me for not asking how long this takes or asking for more details.

I wish I would have read these reviews before purchasing from this company. What a terrible experience. Worst communication (zero. None. Nada) I have ever experienced. I would not purchase anything from this company in the future for ANY reason! The absolute ONLY communication we received from this company was "we need you to come pay your bill!" I spent $9,800 with this company and they NEVER called through the entire process. Every step we would wait for weeks and then call to see what the problem was. This was an awful experience. We walked in and struggled to get anyone to talk to us - when we finally did, the guy said he would meet us over by the insert display, but instead started helping someone else. It was incredibly RUDE! We were prepared to spend thousands of dollars there, but not with that kind of service. Save yourself some time and go somewhere else - I am sure you can find better prices AND most definitely better customer service.

Don't use these people. Over-priced money grab!! Paid $3500 for fireplace itself, then came $1500 in 'extras'.....a $5000 unit only to find out it doesn't have blower to move the heat into the room. Unreal, I was ripped off and betrayed. Then I ask to return some of the 'extras' they sold me, to find out no returns. Nice customer service after spending $5000 in your stores.

BEFORE you invest any of your valuable time with this company, be aware...There is a $125.00 (non refundable) fee for someone to come out and quote a job. Fireside is the only fireplace company I contacted that charge this fee, which can only be credited IF you order from them. Once I paid the fee, it took 4 days for someone to call me, and another 5 days to get them here. When the quote was ready, I was asked to drive back into the store to review it...probably to help manage my sticker shock! The Fireside quote was 35% HIGHER than I had received elsewhere. I'm going to try to keep this brief, as spending time with Fireside is not worth my time, however, informing others of my experience to save them the grief IS worth my time. The wrong stone was ordered, our limestone was cracked, the fireplace door swings the wrong way and the sales rep was horrible.
We had our fireplace installed 6 months ago and I am still upset about the process (thinking time would settle me down). We gutted the entire house, and basically started from scratch, you anticipate some issues. With all the contractors in our house we did not have any issues like with fireside

We called Fireside to come out and fix our 2 1/2 year old direct vent gas fireplace. The guy, Jeff, was out for only 40 minutes and charged us a full $150 per hour rate! All he did was turn up the flame on the pilot light control. I could have googled that! He did not clean the unit nor did he do anything else. This did not fix our issue of the fireplace not starting consistently. I tried called him back out three times and he never responded. Poor service and lack of response at this place. Do NOT use!

My wife and i visited this store Saturday to select a fireplace. The sales person was the rudest person I've ever met. He was very abusive and confrontational for NO reason at all. I will be contacting the owner or corporate to inform them of their sales person with the worst attitude I've ever encountered. I would recommend to all to shop some where else.

Excellent job on answering all our questions in store. Measurements in home were were quick. The waiting period is long, but it is custom made. So I understand. The fireplace doors are gorgeous. Very well made and strong. The look is amazing. Didn't take a long time for them to install and they were very clean. Totally recommend them. It is pricey but worth it

The sales department was extremely rude to me. I felt pressured to by a product within the store that wasn't what I needed at all. When I went to return the item, literally two hours later, I was told it was a "special order." I didn't make any order?! Someone else makes an order that wasn't what they wanted, you force me to buy it, and now I'm the one who is suffering? I even asked if I could just have store credit. The sales man even had the audacity to snicker at me when I complained about the bad service. Extremely rude and a poor way to run an establishment. I

The store is nice but pricy with a lot of products,salesman are hard to get. The best part is the service team, well trained and effective. But a word to the wise buy the standard wood burner that will always be the best choice. The gas units have a ton of electronic that will cost you when they brake. This is not something you can do yourself. And the guys from Fireside are some of the best in the business. I normally don't or use service repairman because they drive up the bill or they replace part until the thing gets fixed. NOT the case with the service person who worked on the
