Yoruk Rug Gallery
Yoruk Rug Gallery carries an extensive collection of antique oriental and tribal rugs, kilims and textiles. We believe "a beautiful room starts with a beautiful rug" and we have been helping our clients find the perfect rug for over 25 years. Our collection is unique and varied with both traditional and more modern pieces.
Services
Mete Mutlu, owner of Yoruk Rug Gallery has been working with Oriental rugs since 1989 starting in Istanbul, Turkey. Moved to Chicago in 1994 to run an Oriental rug store for 8 years before opening his own gallery where now he is specializing in Authentic Antique and Vintage Oriental Tribal Rugs, Kilims and Textiles.
We provide expert hand cleaning using environmentally friendly products. Rugs are hand-washed (in some instances hand-dry cleaned) on both sides. Fringes are washed separately by hand. All moisture is carefully extracted from the rug and it is dried in a temperature and humidity controlled environment.
Here are the Antique Rugs, Kilims and Carpets I have in my stock for sale. I have collected these pieces with accumulation of 30 years experience working in this field and I am proudly sharing them with you. I have described them to the best of my knowledge based on the years buying and selling, reading and learning, meeting and helping collectors add to their collections and loving rugs, the history, the people.
The Floor Cushions in this category are basically Tribal & Nomadic Storage & Cargo Bags. We find them perfectly suitable to stuff and saw shut to use as floor cushions, decorative couch pillows or even beds for your pets. Some of the larger ones are very comfortable to use as meditation cushions as well.

I've been a rug lover and part-time collector of original hand-made carpets for close to 20 years now and I can honestly saying that shopping at Yoruk Rug Gallery with the owner Mete has been the most enjoyable of any of the places I've been. In addition to the owner's great knowledge and willingness to share information with you I've never encountered such an eclectic selection of pieces for every taste and every price point. I highly recommend a visit to Yoruk Rug Gallery for anyone looking for a unique rug for their home at a reasonable price.

If you are looking for a rug that will last forever and you won't see at your neighbors house this is the place. Owner is very knowledgeable and passionate about antique rugs, but without the pretension you get at the Evanston rug stores. These are investment pieces and will cost more than Ikea, but not as much as you think.

Also sells Pillows an antique fabrics, Tribal style rugs and Tulus (those fuzzy looking rugs you see in magazines.

This super cool rug store sells only vintage, quality rugs. No mass produced crap or your grandmama's old nappy doormat.

You'll find rugs from Persia, Turkey (where the owner is from), and all over the Middle East. These guys really know what they're talking about, so ask if you have any questions.

It seems like a cool hangout spot too. I found a group of folks sitting Indian-style around a rug and chatting when I first came in. :)
