I had Rudy Cools replace my AC systems on my house. Aside from feeling a sense of trustworthiness from them, I also had other comps so I know they were fair. When they came and did the work they were extremely careful in the house and my kids thought their guys were fantastic.
Since having them install, Mark has come out to perform our service maintenance and he's been fantastic. He's very knowledgeable and reliable.
I'd say that overall, I feel their trustworthy, responsive and reliable. Great company.

They were able to come next day, solved the issue and fixed it quickly. He even showed me the broken part of my AC unit and explained what went wrong. Down sides: They texted the tech was on the way earlier than the scheduled time frame, and when I replied asking for an ETA (because I wasn't prepared for him to be early), I received no reply. So I had to scramble to be ready for an early arrival. He also rolled up to my house blasting profane rap music, which was a bit unprofessional. Very well organized process and no hard sell. Always do your homework first. I found these folks on Yelp and scheduled a diagnosis. They came out and evaluated my current unit. The technician recommended and new unit, but explained that it could be repaired, but pointed out the issues. They gave me a fair price for a new AC unit (do your homework first, so you'll know if the price is fair). The installation took place a couple weeks later. I am satisfied with this service.

Great experience with Rudy Cools! Owner responded quickly on the weekend and had David come out the next day (Monday). David was prompt, professional, trustworthy, and talked me through everything as he was doing. Our A/C unit was short cycling and I was expecting the worst. David was able to quickly diagnose the issue and fix it for next to nothing. David explained the semi-annual preventive maintenance plan which we will be doing now. He was not pushy at all and explained how there is no incentive for him to sell/upcharge, which other HVAC companies often do. Highly recommend!

Mark and Michael are AMAZING! We had some issues with our AC just a couple weeks after moving into our new home and we ended up having 4 different contractors come tell us 4 different things. Then we got on Yelp, and because of the great reviews we called Rudy Cools and THANK GOD we did. We are out of town property owners. Another company told us a fairy tale and said we needed a new $4000 system. I was in the Navy. I understand motors, compressors, and cooling systems. There was no plausible explanation. No one at the other guys could explain how the observed symptoms justified the proposed system replacement.
Then I called Rudy Cools. They sent an expert with excellent troubleshooting skills. The actual problem was the AC compressor motor starting capacitor. We got charged for the hard start kit, R22, and the visit. Total $568. That was 4 months ago. The system

Called and had Emil show up within a few hours. He diagnosed the problem in 10 minutes and had the unit working within the hour. The run capacitor had failed and Emil replaced it. Total cost was $336.77. I am a first time home owner so not sure if this is a standard cost for this type of repair but my pregnant wife was very happy to have the condo cooled off by the time she was home from work. Emil walked me through some other concerns he had about our 20 year old unit including some coils that could use a cleaning and told me about their twice a year maintenance program. Our AC evaporator coil went kaput and our outside condenser was freezing up. Rudy Cools responded to my request for a quote here on Yelp and came to the house the next day. The tech who made the first visit stayed for more than an hour, taking measurements and writing out 3 very specific quotes for different scenarios. The timeline was initial contact- Wednesday. First visit- Thursday. Installation of a new AC condenser and evaporator coil- the following Monday. They were even early on Monday morning for the install. The work was quick, efficient and clean. I recommend Rudy Cools to anyone in need of AC/heat repair. I was given some pretty outrageous quotes by other companies, but was given a fair and honest price to replace my entire system. The crew spent about 3 days (I needed a lot done) replacing my system. Everyone on the team was kind, personable, and professional. Flavia is a gem and I probably spoke to her daily trying to get everything to pass inspection. Look no further, Rudy Cools is the right choice.

Great experience with Rudy Cools. Our AC/Heater and furnace all not working. Called Rudy Cools after reading Yelp reviews (Monday morning). I received a call back before lunch and after some troubleshooting over the phone to try to identify a simple fix I had an appointment set up for Tuesday morning.
David came out on schedule and did a thorough job, identified the problem (switch had burned out, presumably too many Charlotte power outages/surges). David didn't have the part with him - but was able to go get it and come back and complete the job all in good time at a fair price.

Highly recommend this company. One of our A/C units stopped working and the warranty company sent 2 different service companies that could not solve the problem. The owner came out in a timely manner, diagnosed the problem, handled the warranty company claim and the ultimately finished the job ahead of schedule.

As an update to my review yesterday, I will say my situation was an unfortunate one. Within a matter of under an hour of writing my review, I received a call from Rudy Cools. I also received a message from the owner here. They take full ownership of the glitch in their phone system and acknowledge my calls. Since they did come around with customer service after my complaint, I do have to give them props and up the stars in my review. I still can't say anything about their services and ability to repair, but maybe in the future, I can call them up and give them a 5 star review then! Hopefully

This company came out when others told me to wait two weeks and when I said that wouldn't work, they hung up on me. Not Rudy Cools! They were also booked out two weeks but Flavia, the wonderful person on the other end, stopped to ask if I had any AC at all. If I had two units were they both off? Answer: yes.
She had me worked in and even called me back later to ensure I was helped. David, the electrician, came out twice and diagnosed our problem (turns out it was electrical!) and was extremely patient.
Definitely would use again and recommend.

We replaced our AC six years ago with Angie listed Patterson Heating and Air. We have had a maintenance program with them ever since. However, after their inflated bid of $355 to replace a dual capacitor, forced me to check my Yelp account.

Rudy Cools price of $165 was reasonable, fair and on target. Their employee was courteous and efficient. He also took the time to show me the Farad readings on the new and old part.
Rudy Cools made my 50th Birthday weekend all the more enjoyable with a savings of almost $200.

It's rare I'm super thrilled with any home related repairs. Generally the repair cost, the hassle of coordinating a time to meet, wrangling the dogs when they arrive, etc makes it a ridiculously stressful experience and I don't feel like writing a review even if they do a great job.
