At Allston Piano Moving Company, moving is a highly skilled trade, passed down from parents to children and between generations. Founded in 1955 by former professional wrestler George Franklin, Allston Piano was a proud family business which he passed on to his son Robert Franklin. When Robert Franklin was ready to retire in 2010, Allston Piano was acquired by Gentle Giant Moving Company.
In partnership with Gentle Giant Moving Company, Allston Piano has access to more than 10,000 square feet of climate controlled storage. This piano mover is affiliated with Gentle Giant, so it is no surprise they did a great job, were professional and friendly, and always on time. They moved our grand piano so carefully that it did not even need to be tuned in our new home.
Services: Local move, Storage, Packing / unpacking, Oversized item move, Vehicle transport

Allston moved a Steinway M grand piano into our basement. It was a difficult move with a very, very tight fit underneath the ceiling at the bottom of the stairs. Other movers had refused to attempt it. Allston was very responsive. The guys onsite made the attempt without a board in order to save space, and with some creative wriggling, managed to get the piano in place. The guys were professional, great communicators, and most of all sporting enough to give it a go at a tough job. Very grateful for the excellent service from these guys.

Allston Piano Moving was a total pleasure to work with. Nuno and his team worked quickly , safely and expertly to move my 6 foot Yamaha Baby Grand Piano from the first floor of our home to a basement location. This required a 4 man team to help ease the piano down a slight lawn covered grade to a red brick patio and then into our basement via a walk in rear door. Perfect!
They also moved an exercise treadmill and a Spin bike up to our second floor. Flawless job. I'd highly recommend them for anyone's move.

They were absolutely great moving my piano out of 3rd floor with a crane to a 1st floor house and did so with ease, experience, safety, quickness, and care. They were very communicative throughout process and very helpful getting the piano situation in its new location. Best value and care. Mary

These guys are supposed to be the best piano movers in Boston, so I had every confidence in trusting them with my beloved Steinway M during a move in August of 2017. Unfortunately, my fellow reviewers seem to have had better success.
While moving my piano up a single flight of stairs, they put a massive crack along the length of the fallboard. Also, my piano was scratched during the move. As a professional pianist, this was deeply upsetting to me. Allston did cover the cost of all repairs necessitated as a result of their negligence. This is the only reason I'm giving them 2 stars.

I had my Yamaha upright moved by Allston Piano for a in-town move. Booking was simple and they responded quickly to my inquiry. They were flexible in accommodating my schedule, which was important because I had a very narrow window for the move. The three-men crew showed up right on time (6:30 AM on a Friday). They really knew their job - careful and efficient. The whole move took less than an hour, and my piano sat in the new house exactly where I wanted. Very pleased.

One of the best piano moving experiences of my life. I think these guys cared about my pianos as much as I do! They were quick because they are so skilled--not because they are hurried. Their attention to detail was reassuring. I will never use another mover. Thank you for such a calm and joyful experience.
