We moved to Beverly, MA from Winthrop, MA and these folks that moved us were amazing. Hilton was very professional as well as his two assistants. We moved from a two-bedroom apartment to a two-bedroom condo with a finished basement and to say that we had a "lot of 'stuff'" was putting it mildly.
They were always pleasant, followed direction for redirecting "our stuff" within the new place and just all around great group to work with.

We’ve used three different moving companies in the Cambridge/Boston area and Smart Penny Moving was by far the best experience. The two guys were on time and super efficient - we had mostly large furniture to move and it took them less than 2 hours. They were very respectful and careful. For our Cambridge to Maryland move, I first went to the different vanlines and felt like they were under-quoting to reel me in and provided inconvenient moving times (two week windows when your belongings would arrive at the destination). It sounded like there was a lot of risk in furniture getting mixed up and damaged with our furniture being moved between different trucks and different movers for pick up and drop off. Smart Penny was very straightforward on all of these issues: they gave a very fair quote with a fixed rate and scheduled convenient pick up and drop off times that I requested.

So Happy we hired Smart Penny Moving. Everything went perfect . Arrival time, packing and protecting of our Furniture , timing was awesome from start to finish. After watching these workers for 5 minutes I was extremely confident in their taking care of our move. These workers were above professional and handled everything perfectly !! The 3 gentlemen that came to move us, were very respectful, friendly, professional and took very good care of our furniture and they moved it from Stoneham to Woburn in a timely manner. Working with the moving coordinator was incredibly easy and straight forward, and he responded quickly to any questions I emailed or called about. The three men that did the actual moving were kind, thoughtful, and did a great job. It was very important to me to keep our cat safe from getting outside during all the hustle and bustle, and they were very conscientious about making sure to keep her shut in the room I'd requested. We used Smart Penny for our most recent move and we are so glad we did! It was a dreaded 9/1 move into a 3 story walk up and they made it as seamless as possible. Our 2 movers showed up promptly and worked pretty much non stop until the move was done. Our 2 person crew cost $179 an hour with the clock starting once they left their office. While the move did take a few more hours than anticipated, it was our fault because we didn't have everything packed up 100%. If you have everything in boxes, they can move super fast! I had the best experience ever with Smart Penny Moving for my recent move from Boston to South Carolina. The team they sent was very professional, hard-working and respectful of my belongings. They took great care to wrap all of my furniture so that nothing would get damaged. They were extremely efficient. Hired Smart Penny after they provided the best quote as well as they were recommended by a neighbor. Smart Penny estimated it would take 3 hours to move the big furniture in the house but it took them 6.25 over double, so now the best quote has turned into the worst quote. Mike was always "supervising" instead of working, despite paying for 3 movers. It took Mike over 45 minutes to assemble 2 twin beds (4 allen wrench screws and screws down bunkie boards) I had to fix the bunkie boards as he didnt even screw the screws all the way in. The Mike told me they couldn't fit the full size

I highly recommend Smart Penny Moving. My Mom recently moved from Somerville to Kingston and the move went flawlessly. Each time I communicated with this company, either over the phone or by email, the response from office staff was quick and thorough. The contract was clear and the price was competitive. Hired these guys last summer for a move from Boston to southern Maine. They managed to sneak me in at the local rate AND they moved me on 4th of July weekend. The two gentlemen they sent to do the move were fantastic. Fast, professional, hard working, and very friendly. Even though I only bought the basic moving service they still helped pack things up more efficiently and safeguarded all my furniture. When we reached the location they even helped us move a few things the previous tenants had left in the apartment.

This was our first ever time using movers. They called us a few hours early and gave us the option to start early, which was really nice and worked well. Honestly nothing but good things to say. They were nice, incredibly efficient and effective. I felt like they were trying to do the best job they could to ensure our things were packaged and moved safely AND I felt like they were moving as fast as they could to save us money. Super polite as well.

I made an appointment with Smart Penny Moving for an estimate. I worked for two days packing, preparing, and organizing the furniture and boxes that I wanted moved from MA to PA. I prepared an itemized list to simplify the process. I got up early to make sure that everything was in place for the 11:00 appointment.
