Matt Jones is the best. He knows a boatload about keeping trees alive and thriving, his prices are amazing for the level of expertise he possesses, and he cares deeply about the city and its green canopy.

I cannot recommend Matt enough for your tree pruning needs. He was extremely responsive to emails, flexible in scheduling, and knowledgable. He is also super passionate about what he does and cares a lot about these trees! His pricing is reasonable and he's just a really kind and great person to work with.

Matt was quick to respond to my request for a quote and kept in contact. He did great work on the overgrown trees in our front yard, and went above and beyond to make sure that nothing fell on cars that were parked nearby. His fee was very reasonable, and he also gave some good advice on dealing with those trees long-term. I highly recommend him, and will definitely be calling him next time we need anything done with our trees!

I was hoping that they would cut down the dead tree that is a danger to continue to have on our property. Unfortunately, Matt said he wasn't accepting work that you had to get a permit for due to the circumference of the tree. What a disappointment! If your in the DC area and you make your business here, I would think that you would be willing and able to do the job, get that permit and whatever else needs to be done. I'll find a company that is willing to go through the trouble we are paying them for.

DC Tree did a nice job topping off my crepe myrtle. Easy to work with. Very reliable.

After sending him a few pictures of our tree, Matt spent 15 minutes on the phone with me telling me about the tree and potential issues the tree may face in the future. This wasn't a paid service but Matt still spent time telling me about my specific situation and answered all of my questions. Highly recommend!!

Matt did a fantastic job pruning a dogwood tree in our backyard that has great sentimental value to us. He was timely, reasonably priced, personable, and took the time to explain to us how to handle the tree going forward.

Matt's prices were very reasonable, he was responsive to emails and showed up on time. He went the extra mile to point out some poison ivy on our property and took care to work around a broken fence. We had one dogwood removed and some other trees pruned.

I had contacted Matt after receiving a crazy proposal from a tree company based in Rockville. I basically needed 4 trees pruned and cleared from the housing structure. 2 of these trees were very large.

I contacted DC Tree to trim a large tree extending over my roof line. The owner, Matt Jones (a certified arborist) came out to inspect and gave a quote. He only quoted me the necessary work (not additional work that he thought could be done years from now) and also included the price for hauling and disposal (my calls to other large outfits made that a separate price).

He came on the agreed day, and set up shop- he climbed the tree, cut off the problematic limbs, and made other needed trims. He and his crew took care to protect my house. When done, my backyard was spotless - no branches or debris
