Sometimes an expert is necessary to assess the glass needs of a home. It's difficult for a layman to tell, but the home in the picture has an uncommon glass combination in the windows. These units are Bronze Glass over Low-E Glass. When two of the units in the modified round window failed, we made patterns of the failed pieces and submitted those patterns to the window manufacturer for replacements that matched perfectly.
While the appearance of condensation, water droplets, and discoloration between the panes are the most obvious signs of unit failure, the largest concern with failed insulated glass is the loss of energy efficiency. Resulting in higher energy bills, the failed glass is no longer able to block the escape of temperature controlled air from your home.

So this past Tuesday, my friend opened and dropped a very old residential window (without ropes) in my home, causing it to break. The next day, I called about 10+ different window replacement businesses including Home Depot for quotes.
Half of them never called me back, a couple said they wouldn't come out to only do one window, and the others were just very short with me on the phone. All the quotes I was able to obtain were within the $325-400 range since I didn't feel comfortable removing the window myself after watching a bunch of tutorials on Youtube.

We've had two custom shower doors made by Legacy Glass that were perfect. Today, we called for a quote to have the fixed glass panel of our patio slider removed and replaced. Within minutes of receiving the email quote we had two glaziers and a truck on the way to our house. Thirty minutes later they were done. They cleaned up and hauled the old glass panel away as well. We moved into a new home and a coupe of the double pane windows had lost their seals and needed to be replaced. Legacy was able to get someone out to our house the next day for a walkthrough and the windows were ordered and installed within four days. Everything from starry to finish was great. I am very pleased with the service provided by Legacy Glass. When I discovered a large crack in one of my windows, I called Legacy Glass, who provided me with an immediate quote and sent a technician out the same day to measure. Everyone I dealt with was friendly and professional, and the cracked glass was replaced with a new glass within only a few days. I cannot say enough good things about Legacy Glass. I'm opening a group fitness studio and I am on a tight schedule. The original company who was supposed to come measure for mirrors was a no show. I called Legacy and explained the situation to Val. She absolutely understood my urgency and did everything possible to get me a quote quickly and to schedule the appointment for measurements. We contacted Legacy because we wanted to replace the old glass in our front and back door. Legacy came out for a quote and were very friendly and polite.
After we received the estimate we couldn't make up our mind whether it was a good investment or not, after all the old glass was thin, but intact. Val at the office answered all our questions patiently and accepted gracefully when we decided after all to live with the old glass panes.

Legacy Glass made a very unfortunate event feel a little more okay! I woke up to find someone had shattered my rear door window probably in hopes of finding something to steal. Nothing ended up being taken as there was nothing of value, but I was still left with a huge mess. I called multiple shops in Portland and no one could fix it for 4 days! I went to work with a taped up garbage bag window, not feeling good about leaving my car like that on the street for the next few days. The technician did an excellent job and cleaned up well. I had to move several things out of the way because one of the windows could only be repaired from the inside. Later, when I went to put everything away, I was surprised to see that he had already moved it all back. I highly recommend this company.

I had an excellent experience at Legacy Glass having my car windshield replaced. The price was reasonable, but more importantly they take serious pride in their work. All their windshields are backed by a lifetime warranty against defects and leakage. Chain and mobile glass places do not offer that.
They also took quite a bit of time to vacuum all the glass out of my car, without charging extra. My sunroof was completely shattered along with pieces of my windshield. There was a lot of glass in my car, and they took care of all of it.

Had them replace the glass inserts on11 of our windows. The crew was clean neat and efficient.
We chose to use them based on a past experience where they replaced 2 extremely difficult (11 footers) windows with great success.
After going through 3 months of a major renovation by a general contractor where most of the "tradesmen" had no pride in their work it was refreshing to work with the Legacy Glass crew - again.

Hands down, best customer service of any business ever. This week I ended up taking my boyfriends most prized possession, his 92 Subaru Legacy, in for a windshield replacement. Not only were they able to get me in as the first appointment the next day, but they were thoroughly detailed and informative about everything. The tech guy even gave me a ride to and from the mall since it would take a few hours to replace. Val is your gal when it comes to any questions you may have. During a move in December the movers dropped and shattered part of my dining room table.
