When booking my appointment, I confirmed the cost for cleaning and inspection. Once on site, they hiked the price considerably and did so in a very dishonest manner. I had called around and the original price was market, then they increased it 150%. I was eager to get my fireplace cleaned going into the winter, which is why I planned ahead and booked, but I was not about to give a place like this my business, so I did not proceed.

Working with Top Hat from the first phone call thru the resolution of the issue was smooth, positive, and exceptional. We were in a difficult situation, they put us on a cancellation list and were able to service our gas fireplace within the timeframe we needed. We really liked being able to track our service provider and have his picture so we knew who to expect to show up.

My gas fireplace is not working and I had Top Hat come in to take care of the issue. Their technician reported that the fireplace is in good condition but a part needs to be replaced. The company that manufactures this fireplace (Martin) is out of business and the parts are not readily available, but they didn't make much effort to locate this part.They recommended that I replace the entire fireplace instead of just the small part. I know others have had parts replaced on these fireplaces. It seems once they got paid, they didn't bother to put in additional effort. They charged me for an inspection

Andre and Trey came to our house for our first chimney inspection since moving into our home. We were given a heads up they were on their way which was great! When they arrived they helped explain how our specific fireplace functioned (we haven’t used this kind of fireplace before) and explained the process of inspection. The preformed the clean and inspection quickly and efficiently and were increasingly informative as I asked questions. I really like that we have the inspection report to be able to review what they found along with the recommendations. Would certainly use them again for repairs

Don’t trust TopHat. One tech came to clean & inspect the fireplace and recommend repairs for an issue. Was supposed to provide an estimate for replacing what I was told was a broken damper that wouldn’t close.
Over 3 weeks, I called multiple times to request my estimate. I was finally provided with an estimate for $260. Shortly after, I received a voicemail saying that I had to replace the entire firebox and chimney. Had to call 3 times to get a response. They then said it was a mistake and they could order the damper and replace. When two new techs came, they had a completely different damper

Absolutely awful customer service. After I paid for two chimney sweeps I got an estimate for some repairs to both fireplaces to the tune of 3k plus. Scheduled the repairs weeks in advance, got a date and a two hour window for the techs to show up. Day comes, no one shows up so I call to find out they had cancelled due to weather. I understand we can't control the weather, but isn't it common courtesy for a company to call and let you know they are cancelling your multi-thousand dollar service? No, apparently they can just ghost the customer after they've received their deposit.

I had Top Hat out to my home to complete several services & the customer service & response time at was exceptional! The technician was prompt, friendly & cleaned up after the job was complete.
